Day Fast?

Long term fasts, such as the popular 40 day fast, are similar to the muslim fasting which takes place during ramadan. No food from sun up to sun down, only water..pretty simple. Personally, I prefer a 24 or 48 hour no food only water period fast. However, I only do this rarely, as it is rather unhealthy. I would also suggest, if you are interested, to try other types of fasts....like try fasting from your bed and sleeping on the floor. That is one of my favorite tortures . My friend blindfolds himself sometimes when he eats, to expierience some of the difficulties of blindness. Fasting is meant to humble our spirits, thus strengthening our relationship with God.

i dont know thats a good topic i mean i was woundering this also. If its called a day fast then day time is 6am to 6pm? i dunno i wanna know this too. But then i was thinking like if you fast all day and u dont eat all night thats like a 2 day fast..hmmm or 25hr fast. Intersting..

Sometimes I just fast in order to feel closer to God. Until I feel I have fasted long enough. Have to be careful during these times though, because fasting screws up your emotions and thought process. And you have to be doing it for the right reasons. Mine are usually from 1 to 3 days, 3 days being my longest fast.
