The idrea of the rapture is mainly based upon I Thess. 4:17...

"Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."

It describes an eschatological event in which living, christian beings will be risen from the gorund, into the air... It is beleived that at this time, we recieve our new bodies, and it is also believed that this event is one of many things that marks the return of Jesus Christ.

The "rapture" is a Christianese term to describe a scriptural event, just like "trinity" is a Christianese term that describes a scriptural doctrine.

Of course, like all definitions and doctrines, people interpret things differently from one to another.

I personally believe two things:

That we will experience and live through the tribulation and that either we all will die and then be raised, live again for a while and then be "caught up" at the return of the Lord, or we will not all die in the Tribulation and instead we will be "caught up" at the return of the Lord which is before the time of the Wrath of God - the really really bad stuff which is a judgement of God on the peoples of this wicked earth.

I do believe in the rapture.

Matthew 24:40-42

Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

2 Thessalonians 2:1

Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him.

A lot of pastors are teaching a rapture. They are teaching their members that during the great tribulation, some people will be here aka the unsaved people and the christians will not be here. That is false.

Everyone that is alive, will be here during the tribulation.

[c] Here is Jesus talking about the signs of the end.[/c]

St. Matthew 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.[/b]

St. Matthew 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake thouse days shall be shortened.

Well, yes, but what about the Antichrist?

What about him? He's not the Beast of Revelation. That man, whose number was 666, was Nero Ceasar, who persecuted the early Christian Church, died of a self-inflicted head wound, and was said to have been reborn in his successor, Dominitian (Nero Revidicus). He led the first major attacks on teh Church, martyred Peter and Paul, blamed the burning of Rome on the Christians, forced people to worship him or his image on the penalty of death, etc.

But neither Nero nor Domitian had a false prophet performing miracles like bringing fire down from heaven or causing the image of the beast to speak. While indeed the Roman emperors (and later, Roman pontiffs) and their persecuting measures prefigured the antichrist for true Christians, we can still confidently expect the man of sin to come. He will put all his predecessors to shame with the evil that he will do not only to Israel but also to the Lord's churches.

I believe in a PreTrib Rapture, but of course I cannot tell you why, because I am inherently stupider than those who poo-poo it, and therefore I lack the intelligence to explain why the Church Age is a parenthetical suspension in between the 69th shauvim in Daniel's prophecy and the yet-future 70th shauvim which will occur following the Rapture of the Church.

Daniel is the groundwork for the prophetic events -- and as I am too stupid to believe the modern scholars (and ancient PAGAN philosophers like Porphyry) who first came up with the idea that the book of Daniel was just more apocalyptic pseudopigrapha written ex eventufrom the 2nd century BC instead of being actually "that spoken by the prophet Daniel" as Jesus said -- and since scholars also make turn Daniel referenced by Ezekiel into a "Dan'el" from obscure mesopotamian myth (which they think they have a cornered market on and are the only ones who know anything about)

there is really no starting point or ground of discussion

about the Rapture

since I have already had multiple-lobotomies and had my intelligence lowered surgically

and am one of

"that lower caste"

such as would post at Rapture Ready board

and I am obviously not of the same Superior Sapiens class as King's Taverns posters.
