Catchup, this was basically a light-hearted thread, until you came along.

A light hearted thread??? Yeah  ...About burning alive a lady filled with the Spirit of God?

OK... I will leave your forum. You Catholics are too confusing. Your Church is never wrong?

I thought Catholics searched for truth. Now I know you blind your eyes and hide from it. You really think that your Church is not responsible for breeding these "priests"? That's right use the old devil made us do it.

It is being taken out of the hands of your church. The children that were not protected by your Church will be protected by our laws. It really does not matter what your bishops decide tomorrow. We who are not blind have been forced to see.
I'll go Annabel one further on this one, Catchup. One more outburst like this, and you're on vacation. This type of garbage WILL NOT be tolerated in this forum.

Consider yourself warned.

To me, the most touching scene in the movie was when her father accepted the role that God had given her.

The actress brought such an innocence, a YOUTH to Joan, that it made me realize just how young and naive she was. Basically, a little girl led MEN into battle.

She probably found fighting other soldiers from horseback an easier war than confronting the judges of the Church.

Peace be with you,

VOW - looks like we posted at nearly the same time - glad to see you liked the movie - it's hard to say that you like a movie where someone is martyred, eh? But, I agree, she truly did a remarkable job as an actress. I noticed some additions to the movie that were not on my video - so I guess when we finally get around to getting a DVD player (maybe Christmas) I will have to get that DVD.

I couldn't really follow the whole politics behind Joan being martyred - maybe we can discuss that here? I just know that she was misunderstood - I did not see the notes at the end of the movie before cause they were not on my video - where her mother had the charge "recanted" or something like that and then she was made a saint 500 years later.

Sad to say, but we all make mistakes and it's a good thing the Holy Spirit comes along and helps us to correct them. :)

Does anyone have the Catholic definition for the word "mistake". I have heard it used so many places where it seems totally inappropriate.

I think somehow...Crime and sin are getting misdiagnosed into ... " oops, I made a boo boo" :o
