As the train travels along the country
I stare through the cracks in the car walls
I see the passing towns and people I will be protecting
A few would stop and watch, as the troops would ride past

I see a man sanding off a pantry
and a small boy throwing a snowball
I see a woman on the pond iceskating
as soon as we enter these town, we depart just as fast.

I turn back towards the rest of the group
all wearing their uniforms brandishing their firearms
the man to my right shows me a photograph of his girlfreind
the man to the left shows me his wife.

across from me their is a boy, not much older then 16.
i ask him if he has anyone to go home to when were done
he says "sir, they spared no one"
a tear begins to roll down his cheek, his lip begining to quiver.
I say to the boy, " its ok son, you will avenge their murder"

hours pass by, and day turns to night
Moonbeams shining through the roof, causing rays of light.
most of the troop are fast asleep
but a spare few are too restless to snooze

the man at the end of the car is moving his lips silently while bowing his head
another is cursing the enemy instead
The train begins to slow
as we arrive at our destination
the screeching of the brakes
and the entire troop is now wake
the sound of gunfire in the distance echoes throughout the area

the door slides open and a man is heard
ordering us out, with a voice stern
after we are in formation we are all inspected and told out mission
we are to enter the battle ahead,to serve and to fight
till the last man dead.
we are told that we are fighting for glory and honor

all i am fighting for..
is my wife and my daughter
