One question that has been puzzling me is the status of Christians to God. Are we servants or sons of God? It seems that God can't make up His mind.
The New Testament text goes into great lengths on our status as sons of God. From Jesus's "Abba, Father" to Paul's lyrical statements of our sonship.
But there are other seemingly contradictory statements that refer to good Christians as "servants". The one that gets me is John saying that God will welcome good Christians into Heaven as "my good and faithful servant" etc... in Revelation.
But a good servant is someone who works well for his wage, as Paul says, a good son does not work but does his duty - well. Why is there this confusion in the bible?
Frankly, when I go to Heaven all I want to excitedly say is "(Abba) Daddy!!!!" and all I want to hear is "Welcome home, son! Welcome home."
