Congrats on the icon change!

I end up on alot of the same CF forums you do, and alot of the times I would go to post on a thread you already posted almost the same thoughts I was getting ready to! From your previous posts, i figured you would end up here eventually!

I choose not to display an icon. As it is, some people try to pigeon hole you based on your posts. An icon further aids in doing this. If you display a Messianic icon, but do not go along with the so called Messianic ideal, your icon would be immediately called into question. Then the icon could become a way of trying to control the flow of opinions and information. How Torah observant would that be I ask?

or, one could say that people see the MJ icon and dismiss your post altogether. But, I choose to show my icon because of the way i came to MJ:

one of the reasons i came over to the MJ forum from the Baptist forum was being in GT or other "all denomination" discussions and agreeing with certain people and then seeing their MJ icon deciding to come over and see where all these people with similar ideas/viewpoints were coming from...which led me to learn more about my G-d than i ever have before.

kinda a witnessing tool....

it is a twoedged sword and swings both ways for good and not the way it was intended.
