No, I know what your thinking, but my friend has this crazy idea that it makes him do better in school. so, if you could tell me if its right or not, I would greatly appreciate it.

its better for you to ask the holy spirit for this ... Some would say that playing this game I play is witchcraft , but the holy spirit never convicted me for it...

1 Pet. 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.

1 Thessalonians 5:6-7 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken in the night.

Point here is to keep a sober mind being watchful. Has the Lord not warned us what would happen if He returned and found us not doing His will? If you're friend is a Christian, encourage him to be mindful of what scripture says about those things. :)

No offense intended here but your friend is behaving in a very idiotic manner. And making pathetic excuses for doing so.

As has already been said, this is illegal, it is NOT God-honoring, and will long-term damage his mind and body.

This debate will go round and round...

1. It's illegal
2. He is relying on it to help him in school. When you rely on a drug (for anything) it can become a habit/addiction very easily.
3. I think his excuse for doing it is lousy.

I feel if someone is a Christian is asking this, why is he asking it? Hmm

Well I hear this thing everyday that weed does actually help some kids, we use it for medical reasons, etc... Now, if it was helping him in school, I dont know if that would make it right or not. And please, dont judge other people. Believe it or not, from what you wrote, it sounds as though your almost judging another person. Who is anybody to judge another person? Anyways, I'm very knowledgeable in the bible yet, and I've only begun to start to read it. So, you have your answer.

It is highly unlikely that this is helping him in school in any way. In fact this has proven time and again to be a hinderance rather than a help.

And please, dont judge other people. Believe it or not, from what you wrote, it sounds as though your almost judging another person. Who is anybody to judge another person? Anyways, I'm very knowledgeable in the bible yet, and I've only begun to start to read it. So, you have your answer.

Judging is not a bad thing. We make judgements all the time and in many situations. Think about it, if we did not judge then criminals would never be held accountable for their crimes, sin would never be exposed for what it is, and chaos would reign.

When the Bible cautions against judgement, it does so in the context of the standard whereby you judge. There is also a huge difference between passing judgement upon a person and judging their actions and motives to be right or wrong. In this case, it is the latter that is being discussed.

The following rules indicate what topics need citations. Personal experience and opinion is not considered a citation. You can use scripture or quotes from authoritative sources. All quotes need citations of where they came from (for example, what book or better, a link to a website that has the material for review) Bible verses need Book, chapter and verse number.

Here are the rules that indicate the topics that need citations.
1.2 You will not directly call another member or his or her religious organization a “cult”, “heretic”, “demonic” or “satanic” but you may discuss doctrines, teachings, practices or writings of other religious organizations as long as empirical evidence is provided.
1.3 You will only post negative statements about another individual’s belief or religious organization (including non-Christian religions) with objective evidence provided. Members are allowed to say “The doctrines X church is false because of Y scriptures and Z other relevant evidence”.

4.2 You will restrict any posts relating to the following controversial topics to the Ethics & Morality, Liberal Theology or Christian Philosophy forums (this site uses the scriptural definition of marriage which is a union between a man and a woman):
a. drug use.
b. gambling.
c. polygamy.
d. extramarital sexual activity.
e. abortion.
f. homosexuality.
g. transsexuality.
In addition, discussion of the above topics must be backed by evidence complete with citations. Standard citations are acceptable but links are preferred.

Any post after this Mod Hat that is about a topic above that does not have citations will be removed. Repeatedly ignoring this rule can result in warnings.

Hi Friend,
Personally I don't see anything wrong with "weed." But, and I use a strong but, the Bible also says "Render unto Caeser the things which are Caeser's, and unto God the things that are God's." Matt. 22:21 I don't know how it is where anybody else lives, but in North Carolina Caeser says it's illegal and until they change the law, there's nothing I can do about it. Caeser says it's illegal, I can't do it. If they change the law, who knows? But as for now, since it's illegal, I cannot have anything to do with it.

I agree with this, however there are several medical uses for marijuana and I believe it should be availible for that reason. Those include

Glaucoma, Wasting do to aids or cancer treatment, anxiety and nervous disorders. Pain, especailly from nerve damage (thisalone could help many who suffer from chronic back pain due to disc herniation), siezures (epilepsy) As an antibiotic.

The medical establishment argues that there are other drugs that are as effective or maybe more so, but those drugs often have undesirable side effects.

Mat 15:11 Notthat which goes into the mouth defiles a man; but that which comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.
Mat 15:12 Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying?

Didn't you hear of the secret 11th commandment, thou shalt not set flowers on fire and breathe of their dank herbiness?
