Sad news, and a sudden tragic loss for anyone who knew of him from the WWE/WCW wrestling.

One thing I did pick up, as I was watching the press conference on WWE.com - Vince McMahon said Eddie was a born again Christian! Praise the Lord :)

Yeah, it's a pretty sad thing to happen. I am a huge wrestling fan and a wrestling journalist. The pro wrestling world is pretty messed up because of this. Although having 'personal demons' seems to be common in the world, Guerrero was one of the few to conquer his. :( I miss him a lot.

Here is Eddie's site: http://www.eddicts.com/

:sigh: When it is your time to go then it is your time to go. May the Holy Spirit comfort his widow and his three daughters. I hope for her sake that his mother predeceased him. This is truly a sad day for his family. Yes, Eddie was a Christian  This was Eddie's time to go, but I am confidant that he is in a much better place:

"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going."

I liked Eddie

I only started watching wrestling recently (and reluctently), because my husband is a huuuuuuuuge fan. The only way I can spend any time with him on Mondays and Fridays is if I watch wrestling. It's embarresing to admit it, but I actually kinda like it

Any word on how he died? The beating they take each week must put an increadible toll on their body.

If you die at 38 and you are in great shape, it's likely it was heavy drug abuse. I'm guessing coke and steroids.

I dunno. He's been very public about the devestating effect drugs had on his life. He literally crashed and burned, flipping his car going at 130 while on Ecstacy, went on lots of binges, lost his job, lost his family, lost everything. He's also been very public about being clean since then, and rebuilding his life.

Then again, the heavy drug use in his past probably decemated his body.

The medical examiner here is now saying says they might not know a cause of death for weeks.

Chavo adamantly denied that at the pres conference (you can see it on WWE.com). I heard that an autopsy will be performed so we'll know in a few weeks what caused his death.

He took a pretty good shot to the head with a steel chair on last Friday's Smackdown. That show is typically taped on Tuesday or Wednesday of the same week. I wonder if that played into--undiagnosed brain injury or blood clot, etc.

is complete irresponsible speculation at this point, based on the information that has been released.

Back when I was watching WWE (still called WWF), Eddie G. was part of a group not well liked by the fans. Had this changed in recent years? With the soap opera atmosphere of WWF/WWE, it's hard to tell.

By the way, just who is Stephanie McMahon married to? This question alone tells you how long it's been since I watched that stuff.:)

I'm surprised at the number of born again christians involved in the wwe and the stuff they try to pull at the same time.
Sad about Eddie.

You mean drugs, or what?

Because I heard of Shawn Michaels being a born-again Christian, yet considered responsible for the "Montreal Screwjob" in 1997.

I think HBK became a Christian long after that match.

He was mostly a heel this year-he was fueding with Rey Mysterio, but then his character just recently befriended Batista.

By the way, just who is Stephanie McMahon married to?

Paul Levesque-the man who portrays Triple HHH.

Yeah, if it's because of the chair shot (which it could have been), it'll probably raise a stink about chair shots. I hope it doesn't, though. Just because I hope that the focus stays on Eddie and last thing that needs to come out of this is some commentary on wrestling itself. This is very upsetting to me, though. :( From what I knew about Eddie, he seemed to be a very good man who cared about his friends and family and fans. The three F's.

He seemed like a great guy when they interviewed him. He was a great performer! I feel horrible for his friends and family: not only do they have to deal with his death, but also rumours.

From all reliable sources, he's been clean for several years. But, his body mights still not have been in top shape (although he was obviously in good muscle shape, his other bodily systems might have been suffering) and of course, he's in a business that full of physical stress(from the obvious) and mental stress (from the constant travelling) Knowing all this, it's not fair or right to just go spectulating the worst.

:(

Its going to be a heart-wrenching Raw tonight, like when Owen died.

You're home with the Lord now Eddie.

God Bless...

It really is pretty sad tonight. Cena did a tribute earlier to Eddier and he stated that Eddie was a man of faith so yes, he is home.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear that the chair to the head had some influence. Head injuries are unpredictable. :(
