lukewarm praise of non-present person: "Yeah, he really bugs me, doesn't he bug you?"

Followed by contribution of another person's character to the kettle of fish boiling, Michie:

"I also found it quite interesting that Michie took the time to shoot down some of her favorite Catholic teachings, and in the next breath said there was plenty of Scripture to support the Rapture.

Gotta LOVE that cafeteria style religion!"

Then the topic of gossip is brought up, and Zoomom misses the point and says this:

Well if you aren't getting some kind of satisfaction over discussing a non-present person's short-comings, then I don't know what you are doing.

And Zoomom posts an absolutely relevant concern with which I fully sympathize, only detracts from herself by applying the words "venom and vitriol" where such words are suggestive of her own behavior...not a plank her her eye perhaps, but definitely a stick getting in the way.

"What is sad to me is that there is apparently preferential treatment at the Parlor regarding obnoxious posters. That the person in question can post what he did, with all the venom and vitriol, and then go around all but daring the Admin to censor him...well...I can't really say I'm surprised."

And prejudging/condemning the non-present admins of another board.

No redemption here.

Zoomom still misunderstands the charge of 'gossip' is being thrown at her, reasonably misunderstanding this because of the invective of her interlocutor and because of her legitimate concern for a significant issue, and she actually says,

"We want to talk about something."

Admitting that she is doing just what is being observed.

And this is the thing I love about God's truth, Michie.

You can get about as ticked off at someone that is possible on these stupid boards, but once you DEAL with the person, instead of going the backroad gossip route, there can even be real, true reconciliation and admiration for a person's good qualities.

Good. Because the backhanded way that Catholics get treated on your board has been ticking me off for months. There is such a freaking double standard over there, and frankly, Catholics can't discuss it there, so we discuss it here. If that upsets you, too bad.

Oh. Ouch. I'm hurt. Really. Wait... no, I'm not.

I'm not a hypocrite. I'm exactly who I claim to be. People who disagree with me are not "beneath me." I don't go around starting fights, I don't go around making trouble. But I won't stand idly by while Catholics take a beating and no one does anything. And many of those stupid, biased, insipid articles that Michie felt compelled to pollute the Parlor with were very anti-Catholic.

I figured it was only fair that a pro-Catholic, anti-Rapturist article get some publicity too. Since I've been banned (and given ever-changing timetables for when I would be able to resume posting legally, to the point that I got fed up with the whole "constant time to completion" process), I suggested Wols posted it. I didn't expect Habs to go crazy insane over it. But to be honest, I found it hilarious when he did. That guy blows a gasket whenever anyone so much as raises a finger at that Rapture stuff. He's got far more of a hair trigger than even I have. I never went railing off accusing entire groups of good, decent men of pedophilia and rape.

But of course, true to the double standard, Habs is still posting away.

The vast majority of any "friendships" I feel I have with anyone whose on that board and not on this one have long since buckled under the weight of the dismissive, unresponsive, cold and lathargic treatment anyone who steps out of the ever-changing-lines gets from the staff.

And no one is accusing anyone here of anything they didn't do.

Well said, ZooMom. It's amazing there's anyone left who doesn't see the double standard at play on the Parlor.

If I had ever gone railing on and accusing people of rape and pedophilia, I would have been thrown out. Instantly. As it is, I've been locked out (though with constantly changing dates of when I'd be let back in dangled before me like carrots by people I wrongfully trusted and thought of as friends) for far less brazen language (Habs graced one forum with the "S" word) and behaviour.

Apparently, they like standards so much over there, they've decided to have two of them.

Your posting of random articles, many of anti-Catholic natures, was misguided, ill conceived and poorly executed. Had you not been flooding the board with biased right-wing "news" and articles, then I can almost assure you that the "evil" Envoy article would never have graced the Salad Bar. It was clearly posted as much as a response to the screeds you've plastered all over the boards as for any other reason.

No. Just a statement of fact. Habs blows it whenever anyone disagrees with Rapturism. The entire benefit of the Envoy article going over to was to show the double standard in place:

1> Catholics had been putting up with articles over there that were as inflammatorily anti-Catholic as the Envoy was anti-Rapture, without flying off the handle like Habs. If he's so against bigotry, why didn't he attack and shut down the anti-Catholic articles? If the board is against ad-hominems and other such posts, why do they let Michie post articles that attack the Catholic Bishops of the world with lies, calling them murderers?

I was admonished for posting an article from the 'Dave Hunt Camp'. That I should have used more discretion. That I should have known it was a stumbling block.

I am closing this thread. Unlike the Parlor this is a safe haven for the Catholics. They are free to speak their minds here and deserve to have a place where they can do so without fear of reprisal.

I maintain the rules and the decorum, including keeping folks at bay. I suggest to the Parlor folks that if you have a beef to email or PM me privately.

This is not a debate forum and I'm not going to allow you all to come over here and carry on the way you are.
