...because some people are taught that a book is infallible, and they completely write off any theory that goes against it, whether it be logical or illogical.

People need to realize that their relationship with their creator is not affected by whether or not the old testament literal.

that's just my take.

Why was gallileo jailed for knowledge? because people force their INTERPRETATION onto others. They want truth to be what they believe. Creationists have no evidence they can point to and are therefore lashing out because they fear losing their "Security Blanket" of calmness and order in the universe... >.>

The literal/non-literal stance on the Bible often seems to act as a stand-in for the accurate/inaccurate controversy. If one person says the Bible is inaccurate, another will invariably claim that only the literal interpretation appears inaccurate. It would be my hope that if there were a God, and that God felt belief should be the deciding factor between an eternity such as that attributed to heaven verses one attributed to Hell, he would be far more literal and clear about the intent. There are at least hundreds of intepretations and likely many thousands. It seems a poor way to provide a message.

Perhaps it should be seen as either accurate or inaccurate. Though applying such qualities would more than likely find it to be the latter.

Geology shows that fossils are of different ages. Paleontology shows a fossil sequence, the list of species represented changes through time. Taxonomy shows biological relationships among species. Evolution is the explanation that threads it all together. Creationism is the practice of squeezing one's eyes shut and wailing "does not!".

Excuse me but what evidence supports it. I have never seen any fact in evolution that does not have a missing link. And I am not scared of Evolution. I just know it's wrong. And I shall not lower my standards to meet yours and other evolutionists. Such as that one cave that they claim they found human tools and monkey skulls in. But they forgot one crushall element, THERE WAS HUMAN SKULLS AND BONES IN THERE AS WELL. Therefore it was obveusly a place that they ate monkey brains. Which is a scienctific fact. Thank you very much.

Young lady, you may wish to familiarize yourself with the meaning fo the word irony since you suggest you will not lower your standards in one breath, then apply no standards for discernment of truth when you offer an unsupported, uncited anecdote that makes no sense what so ever.

Personally I suggest you keep away from this forum until you've learned a bit more about the topic or what constitutes evidence within it's context.

Please give us an example of a "fact in evolution that does not have a missing link." Also, explain how you "know" that evolution is wrong. Is it because mom and dad told you it was wrong?

You are welcome.

In the story of "The Emperor's New Cloths" it was a child who spoke the obvious " Emperor was naked" while the wise men was going along with the King. We adults often played games as well, often deceiving ourselves in which a child's honestly sometimes will reveal the truth.

According to this reasoning, Santa Claus really does exist.

Not a valid parallel, Smidlee. Science requires education, and those parading ignorance of science as wisdom are comparable to the vain emporer, not the child.
