Here at ChristianForums, we don't have the manpower to maintain and advertise thousands of requests, and try not to play favorites by selectively choosing which good causes to support. But this one stood out, in our view, as making such a vital world of difference to one of our friends, a specific poster here, that it cannot in good conscience be ignored.
Allan Glenn, who many of you will remember posted as WinAce, is a 20-year old young man dying of a debilitating lung disease that a transplant could "cure." His doctors are willing to proceed, deeming a lung transplant "reasonable," but in the US, inability to pay ensures he will never even be placed on a waiting list. His fiancée Jessica, and his family may soon be forced to endure their loved one becoming a shadow of his former self and gruesomely suffocating before their very eyes. As it stands, he cannot afford the operation and has no viable options except reaching out to the kindness of others, hoping that many contributing hands can save his life where bureaucracy and insurance companies have failed.
Anyone who values life can't help but be touched by this story. Further information may be found at the website his friends set up, www.Save-Allan.org (donations can also be made, via credit card, check and other means, and suggestions are welcome).
This is not a hoax or a scam, dear friends; that website even links to published, reputable news stories about Allan. Even if you cannot contribute at the moment, we ask that you please check it out, as there are many different (often unexpected, but effective) ways to help.
In any case, you can pray that God will heal our friend Allan.
As our Lord said, "Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works" (Matthew 5:16).
Thank you for considering giving a young man some much-needed renewed hope.
