I posted something controversial on another thread, in a moment of unthinkingness. On other fora, I have been jumped on for expressing such opinions but you wise people just ignored me! This place is so civilised!
I think the more we make a big deal out of little spouts that people have, the more drama it creates.Christy4Christ said:LOL we try, I think lately we have been hardest on each other
It's a recent trend, and it bothers me... but it's nowhere near the division and chaos I see elsewhere on CF, that's for sure!kern said:There's more "infighting" (I don't know if that's the right term) since last time I was here (about a year ago).
If I had to guess as to the reason, I would chalk it up to the demise of the Interfaith Discussion Forum (or whatever it was called). I was reading through the old Walk-In Freezer thread the other day and I noticed that the constant attacks on Catholics by the anti-Catholics created a great bond between the forum-goers who put aside their relatively minor doctrinal differences and united as Catholics to defend the Church.
But now that the IDF is gone (which was a GREAT move IMO), we turn on each other -- typical human urges showing themselves, unfortunately.
Overall it's not too bad, though.

From reading my PMs and my "reputation" comments, it doesn't seem that I'm the only one who feels this way.Bastoune said:It's a recent trend, and it bothers me...
Still, standing for the orthodoxy of the faith is worth fighting for.kern said:From reading my PMs and my "reputation" comments, it doesn't seem that I'm the only one who feels this way.
