Welcome to the Prophecy and End times forum

These are the current rules:

Stick to the forum topic (ie topics pertaining to Bibical Prophecies/End times/Current Events)

No swearing or abuse of other people

No cross-posting

One liners (ie Really? ME2

) and excessive quotations will not be tolerated.

If you do not, the message will be deleted.

(OT: it also looks like we are going to be discussing certain theological issues too- I'll let that pass for the moment until a special forum gets started up. However for Creation Science topics goto that forum.)

Cheers,

Yauming? >>> What warrants a topic to be closed? Is it a space issue? Is it that the moderators are "closing the subject?
All of the above?
Also, I'm not quite sure I understand by cross posting and one liners. Is it not OK to make a simple quick comment?
Just want to follow the rules.
In His Love

Hi, Yauming:

Am new here. Your forum looks like a nice place to park and fellowship. I noticed the names of Spurgeon and Tozer . . . two of my favorite writers! My favorite is Arthur W. Pink of the ol' school. Many modern ones I really respect, too.

Your sis in Christ,

Pat

Hi, Christian!

Thanks for your kind words. Am doing well and awaiting the New Year which should arrive in about three hours.

Arthur Pink (1886-1952) was born in Nottingham, England and became a committed Christian in his early 20's. Pink attended the Moody Bible Institute and pastored churches in Colorado, California, Kentucky, and South Carolina. His biography by Ian H. Murray is an interesting read. One of my favorite books of Pink's is "The Sovereignty of God." Most excellent!

Have found a web site that offers glimpses into some of his writings. Hope this helps in introducing this man of God.

What warrents a topic from being closed down? When it goes off-tangent and becomes a personal slagging match.... or when the topic simply goes round and round and round on the same point and is being ad nauseum by the same person masquarading as different people.

As for cross postings, I think it can't be done here on this forum... it happens more in the public newsgroups. For example, something completely unrelated to our topic. Example: "Martian Man wants a garden hose" or "Discuss Elrondian's theory of metaphysical exercise" gets posted here.

Someone else mentioned Mr Arthur Pink. I remember reading his works a long time ago. I think he was a tad too extremeist. He emphasized too heavily upon works rather than faith. There are certain ways of arguing your point of view and imho (in my humble opinion) he took the wrong round. He simply came down very brutally upon faith which he regarded as almost a meaningless concept.

GMT means Greenwich Mean Time.

Time on the meridian of Greenwich, the old Royal Observatory site in London, used as the international basis of time-reckoning.

Could you please tell me how to read the "time" on this board. It says GMT plus 10 hours. WHat time zone is that? :)
