My cat is an inveterate chair-thief. I have attempted to correct this by showing him Genesis 1:29. He insists that he is not a living thing which moveth upon the earth, but a living thing which sitteth upon the chair - and that, even if I exercise my lordship and dominion by moving him, he will simply become a living thing which moveth across the hardwood floor to the bed, and sitteth upon the bed.

I feel I am losing this argument. Can anyone suggest a verse which clearly indicates that cats are included in the lordship and dominion clause?

heehee seebs I got a nice chuckle out of your post. It reminded me of when I told my dog that God made her, and he made me also, but that he gave me dominion over her, so she had to listen to me. Then I told her to lay down and relax for awhile. She gave me a hurtful look, then laid down with somewhat of a groan. but she did listen!

You're cat does moveth from one place to another even though it's over carpet, instead of the earth, but I bet they didn't have carpeting in those days either.
