Do all babies go to heaven?

This is an even bigger debate. We know that through Adam, sin entered humanity. We know that sin is transferred through the seed of Adam. We know that humans are born with sin.

What about babies who die? Aborted fetuses? Surely they have not sinned? Do they go to heaven when they die?

To be honest, I have no idea. So I am interested to know what you all think.

John,
I could not find any place in the bible that specifically said a baby was safe from hell. I have heard 2 sides that argue this point. One saids that God foreknows the decission the baby would make and since the baby is also born in sin they die in sin. Then there is like fran stated those that believe there is an age of accountability and until a person reaches that God will not punish a baby that could not account for their actions.

I myself believe the bible does give us scripture that points to the fact that all babies that die are with the Lord in heaven. I will post the ones I believe in my heart state this.

-- New King James
Matthew 18:2-4 And Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, and said, "Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. "Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

-- New King James
Matthew 19:14 But Jesus said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.''

-- New King James
Mark 9:35-37 And He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, "If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.'' Then He took a little child and set him in the midst of them. And when He had taken him in His arms, He said to them, "Whoever receives one of these little children in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me, receives not Me but Him who sent Me.''

-- New King James
Mark 10:14 But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.

-- New King James
Luke 18:16 But Jesus called them to Him and said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.

This question now arises, Jesus has made the children as examples of who will enter heaven. Why did Jesus use children as the example? If Jesus is telling us to be like them then would He say to the very example, a baby, "you can not enter heaven" and send the baby to hell? Now at the sametime I can not find scripture that uses a child or baby as an example of condemnation. The closes I have seen has been Esau in Romans where it states that God hated Esau even before he was born before he could do anything good or evil. But I do not believe that scripture is talking about God creating a person to hate but knowing what Esau would do, selling his birthright for a cup of soup, God hated that and the reason Esau would serve Jacob.

I also have to admit my wife and I have lost 3 children so some say I am bias in this. I can say honestly in my heart that I believed in this well before we lost the first child and that my studying and praying over this has only reinforced my belief in it.

I hope that is of some help John God Bless you my friend.

John, you were referring to this passage:

2Sa 12:15 And Nathan departed unto his house. And the LORD struck the child that Uriah's wife bare unto David, and it was very sick.

2Sa 12:16 David therefore besought God for the child; and David fasted, and went in, and lay all night upon the earth.

2Sa 12:17 And the elders of his house arose, [and went] to him, to raise him up from the earth: but he would not, neither did he eat bread with them.

2Sa 12:18 And it came to pass on the seventh day, that the child died. And the servants of David feared to tell him that the child was dead: for they said, Behold, while the child was yet alive, we spake unto him, and he would not hearken unto our voice: how will he then vex himself, if we tell him that the child is dead?

2Sa 12:19 But when David saw that his servants whispered, David perceived that the child was dead: therefore David said unto his servants, Is the child dead? And they said, He is dead.

2Sa 12:20 Then David arose from the earth, and washed, and anointed [himself], and changed his apparel, and came into the house of the LORD, and worshipped: then he came to his own house; and when he required, they set bread before him, and he did eat.

2Sa 12:21 Then said his servants unto him, What thing [is] this that thou hast done? thou didst fast and weep for the child, [while it was] alive; but when the child was dead, thou didst rise and eat bread.

2Sa 12:22 And he said, While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept: for I said, Who can tell [whether] GOD will be gracious to me, that the child may live?

2Sa 12:23 But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.

Note what David said at the end: "I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me." This infers that David's child is in heaven, and David will see him eventually. This would support the idea that babies do go to heaven.

Anyone have an idea as to how predestination could determine this? At first I thought that a baby predestined to reject God would not, from the perspective of predestination, go to Heaven. But you could also say that God works it out to where all babies that die are predestined. I don't know, I'm still confused about it myself.

I believe that there are just some things we will not know the answers to in this life here on earth. If you have ever been with someone just before they leave this world it usually is a very peaceful moment. And you can feel the presence of angels and if you look at the face of the dying there is so much peace. Some will say we do not know what really is going on just before your love one dies. Just maybe Jesus is there for them to accept him. this is just how I feel. I have seen several loved ones as they have left this world. It is so peaceful!!

Babies go to Heaven, before you (try) to prove me wrong first seek to understand then be understood.

Babies are too small to sin and know it is a sin, it states in the Holy Scripture in the O.T. that righteous men would kill baby-sheep and burn them with fire or whoever so tha saying goes, the thing is Babies are too small to do that for their sins which they are too small to understand what is a sin and what isn't.

Try to remember yourself as a Baby hmm around age 2 or ask your parents, but you should remember or I might have good memory either way when you are a Child you do not worry from what the world is doing your too busy having fun enjoying your childhood, you might already know what bad and good is at the age of two but even so you don't know how to ask forgiveness your still a young Child.

As for Babies they have even less more knowledge about sin. So where did Moses go to Hell or Heaven ? Did not Lord Jesus the Christ come after Moses ?

Of course more had time to be forgiven for his sins, but a Baby has no knowledge of sin. Lord Jesus the Christ himself said Quote "Do not take these children away from Me" (for such are in Heaven).

You must understand that Babies are born with sin yes it's truth that we are born with sin, but you must also understand that Babies are too small to sin, they have no knowledge of sin.

Even more why try to judge where Babies go ? Are you God now and decide who goes where ? What I stated I stated from the knowledge I know and from the Holy Scripture so seek to understand then be understood.

Jesus sat the little one down next to Him and said, "It's okay for the little ones come to me, don't try to keep them away. Heaven is made up of little children like this one." Mark 10:14 MBW translation.

But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. NKJ version.

It seems that Jesus was saying that before His time, the only ones who got into heaven were the children, the humble ones who could live by faith and not by works. The whole kingdom of God was at that time made up of children!

Stands to reason that if that was true about children before the cross, it is true today, and that children are in the kingdom of God.

Ecc.11:5- "As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all."

This proves to me that the soul is infused by God into the fetus while it is in the womb. There is other scripture somewhere that indicates that those who are mentally incapable of comprehending Jesus still go to heaven also. (brain damage, etc.)
