So can someone point out what exactly are we waiting for in this timeline to armegeddon? We have all the signs of the times, we know the "season". As far as I can tell either there will be a rapture or in the comming years the temple will be built and the antichrist will come. Im still not fully convinced well be raptured before the antichrist and tribulation.

It is all in God's control, and the events will play out as He knew it would from the beginning.

What matters is that you are living today for Christ, being in a right relationship with Him. After all, no one is guaranteed tomorrow. So rather than worry about a timeline, I would be focused on things like how to live a Christian life, what does God want from me, and studying topics like salvation and faith.

Where does the Bible say anything about a future temple?

This has been the speculation of many popular prophecy writers, particularly back in the 1970's. Many wrote that the temple would be rebuilt before 1981, since 1981 was 40 years, minus 7 years, since the state of Israel was established in 1948. Then another author wrote about the date 1988.

But where in scripture does it say anything about a temple being rebuilt? These authors obviously have had the wrong interpretation of various Bible passages, trying to force them on current events.

Well Im not too sure myself if it is going to be rebuilt but the verse is from daniel 9.
5 "Seventy weeks are decreed for your people and for your holy city: Then transgression will stop and sin will end, guilt will be expiated, Everlasting justice will be introduced, vision and prophecy ratified, and a most holy will be anointed. 25 6 Know and understand this: From the utterance of the word that Jerusalem was to be rebuilt Until one who is anointed and a leader, there shall be seven weeks. During sixty-two weeks it shall be rebuilt, With streets and trenches, in time of affliction. 26 7 After the sixty-two weeks an anointed shall be cut down when he does not possess the city; And the people of a leader who will come shall destroy the sanctuary. Then the end shall come like a torrent; until the end there shall be war, the desolation that is decreed. 27 8 For one week he shall make a firm compact with the many; Half the week he shall abolish sacrifice and oblation; On the temple wing shall be the horrible abomination until the ruin that is decreed is poured out upon the horror." Even if there doesnt need to be a temple built, we are waiting for the time when the abomination of desolation stands in the holy place, whatever that may be.

Everyone before Darby and Scofield believed that those verses were fulfilled at the first advent by Christ and the subsequent events leading to the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple in 70 AD. The dispensationalists came along in the 19th century and changed the interpretation of historical Christianity.

well...this is the thing to me...the temple could not be considered holy if within the courtyards the temple for islam is there....the temple would be unholy...

But the jews of old covenant still feel their messiah is coming who will restore the temple and defeat the enemy. This continued hope is reject of Jesus and rise of the Antichrist. I look to see that a continued rise in the desire to rebuild the temple which will concide with the AC. I don't believe in a pre-trib rapture. I do feel there are signs that show how close we really are...but that is all God's control

I reaffirm what FreeinChrist said...live for Christ now and let God handle that...God will take care of you. Grow in strength of faith and lead others so that they will have faith.

Greetings,

Here is the answer to the OP:

2 Thess 2:1-4 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

The word "temple" here is the Greek word "naos" meaning "holy place or holy of holies". It is NOT the "heiron" in which the AoD or the Antichrist will sit.

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

The Jews of the Old Covenant?

Surely you are not referring to the citizens of the modern Israli State who practice talmudic Judiasm are you?

You couldn't be, since those are NOT the "Jews of the Old Covenant".

Who then do you mean?

The "armies' are already gathering around "Jerusalem". The "battle" is about to begin.

It's not a physical battle based around territory in the Middle East. However, it's a spiritual battle of the Beast and God's Elect, the people who have come out of her wicked way of life and false worship. The beast is trying to destroy the elect by silencing their words and I would assume with the way the world is now, it won't be long before actual persecutions begin... all in the name of these people being "heretics" or.. *cough* I mean terrorists! Because if you're not with the beast you're with the terrorists. ;)

The next major event is Matt 24:7 WORLD WAR III

Mt 24:7For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

Contrary to popular belief these events have not occurred concerning this verse. Yes we have had wars ect... but this will be different. The aposltles have asked what is the signs of the end thus there have been wars earthquakes ect.. all thoughout history and have they signified the end? These compressed events are to signal the start of the end and will give the appearence as to the end of the world and a return of a king.

Mt 24:8All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Mt 24:6And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

As you continue we see that first will come the False Prophet then again destruction and the return of the True Prophet and then the battle between them Armaggeddon.

WWIII (24:7)- AC reign (24:9-15)- Great Trib (24:16-26)- Second coming (24:27-31).

In Christ, Mark

PS. No Rapture......

I agree with FiC..We all see the signs going on before our eyes. In fact my witnessing oppertunities are coming from comments like" what is going on with all these crazy things happening in the world". My grandfather lived and went from being a horse soldiers in the Kaisers army to seeing jet aircraft before he died. Point being we all still are seeing thru the glass darkly and will all disagree...But He says"Look up and Be ready"...I lean to pre but I just tell people I'm pan, because it will all pan out like Jesus said. Post and mid will be pleasantly supprised..pretiibs will have to buckle down and dig in for the long haul.. Personally I don't think we'll know the hour and it will be like a thief for pretrib.. But with pre-wrath and post we sorta get a timeframe with great tribulation..What ever..My wife and I are stickin close to Jesus...Shalom..Kim

Hi Sis. Wether you belive it or not there will come a point before He touches down with His army that there will be a trump and the dead along with the living believing in Christ will be caught up(rapturo-latin vulgate) and meet Him in the clouds to be with Him forever..Wether it's pre,mid or post , I think for me as a believer that will be a major event..pax..kim
