You must realize many tricksters wear the mantle of Christianity only to obtain money or votes from the huge Christian family. It is easy to see they are not Christian in their hearts. Pat Robertson is one of these. Others include Ralph Reed, Tom Delay, and George W. Bush.

Joshua

You may want to add to this...any political figure. Left or Right - they are ALL LIARS.

Now - to Robertson....I echo what was posted earlier. SHUT UP!

I Think We All Owe A Huge "thank You" To Pugnacious Pat! I Don't Think I Have Ever Seen A Thread On Christianforums That Has Had Less Descension From The Majority Opinion. He Is A Uniter, Not A Divider. A Thread Where We Have Almost No Disagreement Over The Essentially Anti-christian Babble Coming From The Historically Irresponsible Robertson. He Has Never Represented Me, And I Am Pleased To Find That He Has Perhaps Rarely Represented The Christian Movement. He Has Marginalized Himself And The Christian Coalition That Has Provided Financial Support For His Inflammatory Rhetoric, Though His Diamond Mines Are Probably Doing A Good Job Of Keeping The Cameras Rolling. I Am Hoping The Fcc Has A Way Of Addressing This.
But I Will Savor The Time When The Christianforum-ites United, For One Brief Shining Moment.

Hugo Chavez is not a nice guy. He has caused so much destruction
angry.gif

He's a Dictator and everything he does is for his own benefit.
It is known that people died due to his reckless actions, people that got sick and did not get good health care because of all the money he squandered around the world and at home, for all the corruption that he has ignored and still ignores.
Our Government knows of his evil actions and I'm sure they keep that in mind when dealing with him, just as they did with Saddam. He will get his in due time I'm sure, but PR stated his own opinion on national TV and is getting way to much attention.
rolleyes.gif

He obviously doesn't speak for the majority of America let alone the Christians in America. I don't think he should have stated what he did on TV for all to blab about. I don't watch his TV program, so I don't know too much about him but I've heard he has never been good at holding his tongue and thinking first before speaking to the viewing public.
tongue.gif

Of course he is entitled to his own opinion and they way he chose to share it will be for him to sort out.
Will he apoligize for his assassination calls? iduno :sigh:

Could I get a source for that?

No, he's a democratically elected president.

As it is with all politicians.

Other than the lack of sources to back up your propaganda, as the previous poster stated, Chavez is not a "dictator" (and dictator doesn't mean those who oppose U.S. policies). Every single president or leader of that country before him, ruled corruptly, giving the top tier control of the entire oil, while the rest of society (Black-Indian) lived in complete poverty. With his arrival, he took control of some of the oil and used the money to create welfare programs for the poor, which have been very effective. That's why, even though the opposition (the rich) controls most of the media, he has won his elections in landslides, because of his support from the poor.

I remember Greg Palast going to one of the opposition rallies against Chavez and seeing "frosted blondes in high heels clutching designer bags, screeching, 'Chavez - dic-ta-dor!'" and a plantation owner griping "about the "socialismo" of Chavez" and then jumping into his Jaguar convertible.

Where are all the christian organizations condemning it? Where are the official statements to the media? If I don't get these things immediately, in the next 15 seconds, I'm going to be forced to believe that all christians support what Robertson says. And unless every single post every christian makes from now on is prefaced by "I don't agree with Pat Robertson," non christians will also believe you all are complicit.

this post is of course clearly satire, but how does it feel to be on the defensive for once? think before you lump an entire group together next time

Believe what you wish, though you'll need to ignore the posts of most Christians in this thread to do so. ;)

Protestants do not have a spokes person or a 'pope'. We are individual churchs and leaders. There is no "Christian organization" to represent all of us. Maybe most of us assume that everyone knows Robertson is an idiot. What I find amusing is how much attention he's getting. Who is he anyway to get all this attention? It's like anyone with an opinion gets airtime. Trust me you are not gonna put me on the defensive. There is plenty enough I hear from people everyday about being Christian your post doesn't scratch the surface.

So it would have been fine if he had privately suggested that Bush have Chavez murdered?

...without there being a direct existing threat is a bit extreme.

He's threatening to not sell his oil to the US, is that a good enough reason to murder him?

I'm just wondering though, could you tell me what communism is, and why being a "commie" makes you a scumbag whose life is almost worthless?

This is pretty much what has been said from the beginning. Robertson is one Christian, he does not represent Christianity as a whole. I think the point Rahma was trying to get at is that some people will say stupid things like "Well let's just kill all the Muslims and get rid of terrorism." because one Muslim says something equally stupid and non-representative of Muslims as a whole.

Well the fact that communism has resulted in the murder of over 100 million people in the last century alone is a pretty good reason why those still advocating this disastrous ideology should be regarded as worthless since the communists place such a small value on human life themselves.

Ironically, it is the capitalists in that country who have destroyed it and it took a Democratic Socialist to give equal rights to the poor.

Ironically, the country is going to hell in a handbasket with an authoritarian (is there another kind?) socialist at the head.
