I'm relatively new to this message board.

So i want to say hi.. and introduce my self! i'm 23, and work for a movie company that makes Christian based films.. the LEFT BEHIND MOVIES!

I've come to discuss a new outreach opportunity for your church and community (i'm not selling anything) but i started a new job and i learned a lot of great things, and want to share.. you might be interested

In the 70s and 80s, many churches had movie nights were they showed Christian movies, and this brought people into the church, and they brought friends. Cloud Ten Pictures CEOs Peter and Paul Lalonde are trying to get this going again. They at Cloud Ten produce the Left Behind movies, and the 3rd movie is coming out on OCT 25!

Now, instead of releasing it to theaters, we are releasing it through a brand new distribution. CHURCHES! Book the movie to be shown in your church, charge admission and door collections stay in your church for whatever project/mission you are organizing.

The main objective of this project is to create an outreach opportunity for your chuch, to bring people in and expereince church. The movie release will also send a message to Hollywood about the types of movies they need to make. There are only 5000 movie screens in America, and 250,000 churches. Hollywood would take notice and make more Faith based films.. Get behind this movement, and involve your church, or just check out the movie, and get some information and spread the word. The movie trailer and interviews are online as well!

just google "left behind-worldatwar" :)

I'll post back if you have any questions

Well oscerkitty, the idea is not new but I personally think it will not be as successful as if it were released to theatres.

I spent more than a quarter of a century as an owner/manager/projectionist in the theatre business returning to it briefly last year as a manager for Regal Cinemas and I'm familiar with Cloud Ten product. I was also a Christian film library manager. I believe film is an excellent evangelist tool. The problem is, generally, unchurched people are suspicious of church centered activities and a movie isn't going to get them in any quicker than a sermon. The company would do much better reaching the lost by doing some "Hollywood" style promotion and putting the film in theatres.

And you need to be totally honest with us. To say you are not selling anything is not quite true. Cloud Ten will not release it to a church without a rental fee.

sorry! didn't mean to be dishonest with you! but a lot of times in chat rooms, a post will start rambling on and on about some product, and its just spam. and I wanted people to know that i'm actually posting and spending time on this message board, and not just soliciting.

yes, kirk cameron from growing pains!

I know, I have my doubts too, regarding the release.. but I think it is refreshing idea and am fully behind it. Also with bigger companies taking notice, we will gain larger budgets and be able to produce better quality movies

:)
hope to chta with you again
god bless

It should be understood that the "Left Behind" series is based on the "Rapture" theory and not every one agrees with that.

I hope Cloud Ten IS able to improve the quality of its product. Film and TV are powerful tools for reaching the lost. So far, IMO, the company doing the best job these days is World Wide Pictures (a division of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Organization) a vast improvement over what they did in the early days.

I'm saddened to see the apparent demise of Ken Anderson Films and Mark IV Pictures. They had put together some good stuff.

Were the first two on particularly wide release in the States? Here in the UK I'm not aware of them ever hitting the cinemas at all. Promotion through the churches seems like a smart move.

IMO.

Could you possibly point me to a good summing up of the arguments on that one, either hereabouts or elsewhere? I mean, I've read people saying that the Rapture theory is unbiblical, but I've not come across any real expansion on that assertion. And yet the Left Behind site contains a whole load of biblical references to pack up the theory. I've no particular bias either way on this, but it does seem as if the pro-Rapture people make a stronger case at the moment, and if there are good arguments against their position then I'd very much like to read them.

Cheers,

David.

David; the first 2 were a medium release in the states, but I am unsure at the momment about the UK. they got over 3 mil in the box office and was rated 17, on the top 50 list in the US.
I'm at work right now, and its so cool to see this all take place around me.

Hisby - great idea to mention it to your pastor... thats the whole idea! :)
We are just trying to make this the biggest theatrical release, and it benefits everyone
Special effects - more in the third movie... check out the trailer, on the movie website.. yeah as the movies go on... should be more challenging to get thos effects up to par :)
Any questions, direct them my way :)

god bless

The Scriptures they quote are interpreted to fit their theory. I don't want to hijack the threat so drop me an email and I'll share with you.

People who are not saved are skeptical of ANYTHING that goes o in a church and are less likely to attend than if it was shown in a cinema or some other neutral location.

hehehe even some of us pre-trib rapture believers disagree with parts of the movie. But it is some what enjoyable to watch none the less. I'd prefer to see a dramatized documentary style movie than a full blown Hollywood style movie like this, myself. But in a public theater, this is best fitting for this movie imo.

Hey All

Not only available in churches. We are opening to highschools, university campuses, colleges, and community centers.. We have great links with college, university campuses...

I definately agree that if you are generally not a chuch attendee, then it would be intimidating for sure! i was intimidated the first time I entered my church as a guest...

I agree with revrobor, I have seen the first movie. If they really want to make an impact on non-christians, we have got to meet or exceed what Hollywood puts out.

These movies need to be of Blockbuster proportions and distributed to every major theater. Just look at "The Passion"

That was a Blockbuster!

Left Behind needs that kind of quality, special effects, and promotion. Yes, I know that takes money, but that is what needs to be done to attract the lost.
