Today, I am seeing people are searching for "the blessings of God" rather than "the God of the blessings". People are seeking miracles and blessings rather than seeking God. People want the comfort of blessings rather than being matured spiritually. Christians have to understand true success from the perspective of God's kingdom. The key is the Christian perspective and approach to life. We must make God's kingdom and righteousness a priority and leave our happiness and prosperity up to Him.

"The trouble with you is that you make your decisions on the basis of appearance." 2 Corinthians 10:7

When people want to believe something so badly that they will reject the revealed truth of the Scriptures. One of the most effective deceptions that Satan has foisted upon Christians is the idea that certain groups are more spiritually mature than less-enlightened believers. "I am more approved in the Lord's eyes than you," divides the Body of Christ and gives non-believers a negative opinion of the Christian faith.

Ecclesiastes 7:14
When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider: God has made the one as well as the other. Therefore, a man cannot discover anything about his future.

Ecclesiastes 9:12
Moreover, no man knows when his hour will come: As fish are caught in a cruel net, or birds are taken in a snare, so men are trapped by evil times that fall unexpectedly upon them.

Ecclesiastes 11:8
However many years a man may live, let him enjoy them all. But let him remember the days of darkness, for they will be many. Everything to come is meaningless.

Life is uncertain, embrace it; I do not know what horrible things will be on the earth. I do not know what will happen in my life. God may call me home today or 40 years from now. God may heal me or may not heal me. God moves in mysterious ways, and that invites uncertainty into the world.

All quotes below are from Dr. David Jeremiah's book "Searching for Heaven on Earth".

We walk by faith, not by sight. If our faith only works when everything is rosy and upbeat, its not worth very much. Faith kicks in when the roof falls in. We keep up our spirits and fortify ourselves by trusting in God's presence and promises despite the dismal circumstances. We have to understand that God's plan is good, and that includes even the negative things that come into our lives. Page 61

Optimistic people see blessings amid burdens . They realize the sun always breaks through sooner or later. It refuses to be defined by the presence of dark clouds. After all, the dark clouds are nothing but mist; the sun is built to last. Page 69

God's design for your life is every bit as awe-inspiring as tomorrow's sunset. Page. 70

A God who can't be used (Ecclesiastes 5:1-7) Page 105

Wisdom is forged in the fires of mourning, trouble, and disappointment. Fools with a frivolous, carefree attitude don't learn from the experiences of life. When wise men and women face adversity like death, disease, and destruction, they learn fresh lessons from God, they take the lessons to heart, and they become better instead of bitter. Its a choice! God isn't as concerned about our being momentarily happy as He is about our being mature. Page 167

What are your thoughts regarding to your circumstances in your own experiences?
