So only the dead in Christ can bury the dead?
You have never been to a funeral or a pallbearer?

When you've checked your spirit and repented properly then you can partake of the Lord's Supper

I've repented, been saved and baptized. I understand whats needed in order to partake in the Lord's Supper, but you never answered my original question. Why is it wrong to take communion at a funeral?

I'm not trying to be difficult. I'm just trying to understand you comment.

Or maybe the whole "do this in rememberance of me" thing could apply to the funeral to say that "even in burial, we remember Christ."

The reason the cross is symbolized is that the cross is where our salvation was paid for. Why is Jerusalem considered holy? That's the capital of Isreal and God's chosen city. No other reason...plus I don't think people worship the cross, or the statues (although I do disagree with the statue making personally). And RFK if you could give verses to correlate your statements, that would really help. :) Thanks

The thing about confessing to the priest is this.
"Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed." -James 5:16
I think they (Catholics) do that out of following the teaching of the Bible. No problem in my eyes, although they do need to confess to God as well. It's pointless otherwise. :)

And where is the dead bury the dead verse? I only find one that says "let the dead bury THEIR OWN dead." Matthew 8:22 Those 2 words change the whole meaning of the verse.

Mat 8:22 But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.
Luk 9:60 Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.

I don't see own here? The emphasis was to follow him and preach....

The priest actually forgive them and make then do penence for the sin, That isn't Biblcal
