RKF . I am going to have to disagree with you on that . The higher power they beleive in has a name , and his name is ALLAH , and ALLAH has a messager who's name is MOHAMMAD the prophet . To the muslams he is a true prophet of God , but to us christians he is a false prophet , otherwise we would be muslams . However , If you and I RKF were part of the ecumenical movement , we could tell lies and say that God has many names , I know the pope would back us up on this . ha ha ha Have a nice day RKF . If you wish to continue this conversation , go ahead , I'm enjoying it . By for now friend .

RKF . I can't speak evil of todays popes , but I can of yesterdays popes during the Inquisition . It is proven history that the popes of the inquisition killed millions of christians because they refused to suck up to them or something like that . It's been a long time since I read that in a history book , I must look up the word Inquisition on the internet . That's if it hasn't been banned for being offensive to the followers of a man who they claim is the closest person on earth to God .

The Pope does not believe that he is "god on earth". He, as well as all other Catholic bishops, believe that bishops are in "place of God" in the same way as the early apostles, who spoke for God and had the keys of the kingdom. A bishop is a successor of the apostles and is the chief shepherd of his church or diocese.

Protestants interpret the "in place of" to mean that the bishop (more importantly, the Pope) replaces God and claims to be God. That's not the case; Catholics have always defined the "in place of God" as the position the Apostles held. Catholics would say that St. Peter was "in place of God", but that in no way means they think Peter WAS God or tried to replace Him. They would say that Peter was God's representative on earth for the Church.

As Ignatius said in 116AD,
"Let the bishop preside in the place of God, and his clergy in place of the apostolic conclave." This was written before the Roman Catholic Church was even formed.

In Christ,

Acts6:5

Why do you think the catholics keep Jesus on the cross?
Why do you have to go to a priest to confess your sins?
Why do they have communion even at funerals?
The harlot of revelation is the catholic church!
They killed more christians than anyone, they are the biggest pagan church in history, they have corrupted the Bible in so many ways. they have taken control of more countries than communism. Soory I don't mean to offend you catholics but it's time to awake.

Some will say a reminder, but personally I dont like it.

Thats a good question. Is this another way of interceding?
When someone says, "Forgive me father for I have sinned." Are they talking to the priest or God?
Why do they have communion even at funerals?
My church has communion every sunday. Why is it bad to take communion at a funeral?

RKF As long as they keep him on the cross he isn't the risen savior, no power yet, only death

RKF Man can't forgive sins, only God can, catholic power trip. They believe they stand in the place of God!

RKF The Bible says that if you take communion unworthly then the his blood is on your hands.

The cross was never a religious item , it was the tool used by the romans to snuff out the life of a person given the death sentence . If what hapened 2000 years ago were to happen today , do you think the christian churches would hang on their buildings a noose , a rifle , or a syringe ? The pope walks about with a staff with a cross on top , would he have done the same with a hangmans noose , a gun or rifle or a syringe ? think about that .

Still if you are worthy, why is it bad to take communion at funeral?

It has become a religious symbol. In the scriptures, preaching a crucified savior was an offenseand was foolish to the unbelieving world (1Cor. 1:18), for the very reason that Jesus died a dishonorable, criminal's death on an instument of torture. Christ's death on the cross was offensive to the 1st Century world, but it was glorious to the believer because of what resulted from it.

I just don't understand the problem with the Christ/Cross issue. Protestants have pictures and statues of Christ on the Cross; it's reminder of His sacrifice, and a humbling thing to behold. It certainly doesn't mean that some Protestants "keep him on the cross" and that means "he isn't the risen savior, no power yet, only death". Such an idea is ridiculous. But when Catholics show Christ on the cross for some reason it fuels wild, fanciful ideas about the Anti-Christ and such in the minds of some Protestants. I just don't get it (by the way, I'm a Protesant, not a Catholic).

In Christ,

Acts6:5
