I'm interested in hearing about any supernatural experiences that you might have had. I'd like to hear from all the different traditions on here.

For example, I once heard a Wiccan telling a story about how he was a festival and a spirit entity known as an "oogie" (i'm not sure if that's how you spell it or if it's even real) hitch hiked home on a drum he had brought to the festival. They apparently had to do some cleansing ritual to remove the thing.

Anything that you yourself have experienced or at least witnessed in some way.

Also, please don't critique and analyze others' experiences as my only goal was just for people to share their stories.

You know it's those little strange events that build up into something great. I've had a supernatural day or two, they were unforgetable. Here's the thing though, it isn't like I saw a UFO, Bigfoot, or anything like that. It's been more of the case of Deja Vu, or even a sort of preknowing of something that you'll take control of in the near future. I've never seen a table float, or seen Nessie; but I would say everyday for everyone can be supernatural if they let it. ;) In the same subject, I hope you find someone willing to tell you something at the magnitude your looking for. (It's also interesting how you've come here to ask this...)

Well I've heard stories from people within my own tradition before. I can't say I've heard too many stories from muslims, hindus, pagans, or bahais. I mention those because they seem to be the dominate groups on this forum.
Which was why I was asking... I'm not looking for Nessie so much... I mean if you've got a story like that, Great! I'd love to hear it. I'm looking for any kind of religious or strange experience anyone has had that might've changed their life or fortified their faith.

I dont know if this passes for supernatural or not but I recall having an experience as a child a couple of times. Theres probaly some scientific reason Im sure. Anyhow I remember waking in the middle of the night feeling as if I was paralysed and terrified at the same time...couldnt move or speak. It felt as if the was something above me pressing down on me. Then all of a sudden it would stop.

Yikes, I don't think I've had something that scary.

In a dream, like a snapshot, I got a layout's look of the house we would move into in a year. A year passed and when I stepped in the door I froze, I felt as though I had been here before; I recalled the dream. I've had other "snapshots" but I forget them over time. :/

I've also dreamt of conversations that I haven't had yet, and people I've yet to meet. A few've come true, but again; I forget :/

Bingo!

I'm not quite sure this fits...wait, yes I am. About a year after I claimed within myself to be Pagan and follow my beliefs towards Wicca, I dreamed. It wasn't a snapshot but it was more of an awakening. You see I was there, in something that resembled a park. Dark monsters and red eyes were closing in on me. When I turned to run I heard a voice, almost as though it were in myself. "White Gravity," it seemed to say, as I felt a bolt of energy within myself, "is your name." The creatures parted and I awoke feeling like a new man. It was indescribible, that emotion I felt, but for some reason I called myself whitegravity long before this dream...as though it was meant to be. Since then I call myself Whitegravity with a meaning to it's name; I'll never forget the voice that shook my soul alive.

Does that count as supernatural?

Here are some that come to mind right away.

There was this time when we were on the road in winter and got stuck on a bridge far behind a grater truck, which if you even seen one has these teeth in the back, anyway, the track starting backing up and our driver (a typical women driver ;) ) just was stunned out and just hit the horn, I who was in the back seat and saw the grater driver‘s head, know he was not looking behind him, and soon the teeth of the grater were on the windshield; both people in the front were stunned and were not moving out of the car and me in the back had no doors in which to escape, then just as the teeth start cutting into the glass the grater stopped and the driver came back and look to see us in our car. Somwhere along the line, the grater driver said that the only reason he had stopped was that he had seen fiery blue eyes glaring at him from behind, yet there no way he saw us and no one in the car had blue eyes.

A real simple one was when I was hit riding my bike across a road, I was hit by a mini van which they was later determined to be going over 60 km/h, it hit me dead on and the bike was turned into seriously 15cm of twisted metal. Yet I was found almost 25m down the road on the soft grass(which is quite a ways to the side) unconscious (yet only for about 5mins ) and with only a very small injury to my ankle on the opposite foot of the hit, the police also noted afterward how strange it was that there was no dent (as would be expected) in the front of the van.

They’re also the time when I was still a catholic, when I was reading up on medallions turning to gold and the next day my pendent had a funny yellowish something on it, and it slowly over the process of a week actual turned to gold (or got the coolest gold covering I've ever seen).

Anyways, if these are the kinds of things your looking for then I have many experiences like it, do you want me to share more?

(Emphasis mine)
The feeling of paralysis, the feeling of something pressing down on you from above

That's a classic example of a night terror with hypnopompic paralysis (see HERE for some of the classic symptoms, note "Fear", "Pressure/weight on body", and "Impending sense of doom")).

This is a common theme (with the exact same feelings) in "alien abduction "stories and "demonic visitations" as well.

And yes, I know that they can feel real and feel really terrifying. I used to go through this on a fairly regular basis until my mid-20's.

Yes, I've had Sleep Paralysis before as well. About 2 or 3 times, it's right before you go to sleep or right before you wake up. It has something to do with your brain still being conciously active after it has turned off all physical activities when one is asleep( so that when one is dreaming, one doesn't act them out in real life )... or something of that sort.

-----------

Now that I read Whitegravity mention Deja Vou, I do remember being in school once and having a supernatural episode if you may call it that. Well, I was sitting next to a friend, and my friend asked me for a pencil. While I was searching for the pencil a thought popped into my mind.

My friend telling me , "Oh, never mind" concerning the pencil.

But then I did find a pencil, and I gave it to her -- but while I was handing the her the pencil I was constantly thinking of the thought, of maybe if it was going to turn up to be true. But after she took the pencil from my hands then I thought... "Nah, its just some stupid thought that came into my head, can't happen anyways since she already accepted it..."

But after I gave her the pencil, for some reason she was still looking into her bag, and then 5 seconds later, she said the exact words... "Oh, never mind..." handing me back the pencil... and I said, "What happened?" -- She said, "I was going to use that pencil, but I don't really like the way they feel, but I found another one in my bag...."

But this probably was just a coincidence...

I don't know if this belongs here, but it came to mind.

One time I was talking to a guy over some lunch, and we got into a discussion about some movie that I don't remember. Anyway, it had something to do with witchcraft or something, because that was what we were discussing. He seemed to know a little too much about it for the average person on the street, and I (as is usual for me, it sparks a lot of drama) pretended to not know much on the subject. I said "well some people really get into that kind of thing" and without missing a beat he goes "Are you a Druid?"

I just said "What makes you think that?" and he said something along the lines of "I don't know". It surprised me that he even knew the word, let alone such a lucky guess.

This probably isn't supernatural.

Hi AimlessEMF.

Some folks might not feel comfortable talking about this kind of thing. And others, like myself, think that these events are not a matter of being separate from life but rather a part of it that we just don't usually see. So when I have strange experiences meditating or what have you, I don't see them as special or out of the ordinary.

A Google search might help too. An interesting Buddhist phenomena is the "rainbow body".

Be well!

Metta,

I was taking my first shaky steps into rune work. I wasn't quite sure I had done enough studying, but I figured I was okay to do a little bit of risting (which is to lightly carve certain rune staves into a candle and burn it).

I have hypothyroidism, so my energy level is WAY down. Even on medication, an ordinary week will leave me so exhausted that I just collapse and sleep most of the weekend away. I've tried other methods to keep myself going, but they never seemed to work. So, just for the hell of it, I decided to do a bit of rune work to see if I couldn't boost my energy that way.

I chose three runes for risting: Uruz, Sowilo, and Tiwaz. All high-energy runes. Big mistake, though I didn't realize it at the time.

I did this early in the morning. Shortly after, I started to get the jitters. I thought, "Great, it's working!" and went about my day, letting the runes do their thing. I assumed that the jitters would soon pass, and my energy would come down a little, leaving me relaxed, but still wide awake. That's what usually happens when I drink caffeine.

It didn't. It only got worse. I started to feel angry for no real reason. Jittery muscles gave way to stiff, clenched muscles. My skin was flushed. My heart rate went way up. I have a resting heart rate of about 65 bpm, and it was easily up in the high 90s. I can't tell exactly, but it felt about the same as it feels after a moderate workout.

I felt furious, and I don't know why. I wanted to scream and yell. I left a slight dent in the wall with my fist -- which is strange, because I have a right hook like a wet salmon.

I'm not prone to such outbursts; I'm a very relaxed and laid-back person. Even on my worst days, I have an overwhelming tendency to keep my cool. When I really need to vent, I do it through writing and painting, not slamming my fist against the wall.

After a few hours, it started to subside, though I was still very tense and snappish, full of more energy than I knew what to do with. I did some exercise, but it didn't seem to help.

I expected to crash -- hard -- once it was over, but I didn't. I went to bed normally, and was back to normal when I woke up.

There are a number of non-mystical explanations for why this could have happened, including a psychosomatic response, but it does make me wonder.

I've had a few pretty nice and pretty scary supernatural experiences, I made fifteen bucks off of one, good times, that was. Most of them don't make good reading, except for a few that were pretty obviously just plain ol' dreams. Besides, the last thing I need is to sound more crazy on this forum, PM me if you want to hear a good one.

I dont have supernatural experiences, but I know several friends who think they have.
Like when I took a page from South Park and did a cold reading for a friend using the Tarot Cards. I flat out told her "This is FAKE, so watch carefully"
Within a week, several more friends came to me to read their cards due to the fact that the first person I did a "reading" for thought (despite my loud disclaimer) that I really could read the cards.
Even more humorous was the fact that my "reading" was taken verbatim off of a site that explained how cold reading worked, and demonstrated word-for-word exactly what to say to get people to buy into it.

Cold reading and gullibility, gotta love it

Hi Aimless,

Afte I graduated high school, I got into rock and roll. Got into a band, started partying, staying up for days on end, drugs, alcohol....I was THE most anti-social person alive. I HATED people. Absolutely hated everyone. I thought all people were phoney losers. The closest I'd ever get to a church is when I'd be driving by one doing drugs...

Well, one day I had been out drinking with my best bud. We were on our way to get some drugs and got into a race with a guy.

We got going a bit to fast and lost control of the car. Had a very bad car wreck.

When the paramedics got there, they took one look at me and thought I was already dead so they left my lying there and started working on my friend.

Well, eventually they heard me moaning and came to help me.

I was almost dead though....very close to it. Fractured my skull, crushed both jaws, broke three ribs, punctured a lung, crushed two vertebra (sp?) is my back, and was covered with blood.

Soooo....I came to (woke up?) in this cold dark room lying flat on my back. I was unable to move, couldn't hardly speak, had 36 wires and tubes running in and out of me to keep me alive. Bad shape...

After about three days I began to realize what had happened. There I was....in intensive care, my life completely ruined. I couldn't eat, couldn't move, couldn't roll over in bed, couldn't sit up...couldn't do anything.

Having heard about Jesus before, I knew I was supposed to believe He is the Son of God but didn't really know much else other than He "saved" people. After the cold realization hit that my life was now all but gone, I called out to God. I literally said, "God, what can I do to be saved..?"

To my complete surprise, God answered me..!!!!! He spoke one single word to me. "Confess." (I'll get to the significance of this later)

It was a puzzling thing to hear at first, but I knew that this voice WAS the voice of God.

It was the first time in my life I ever heard it and it was clear as anyone's voice I'd ever heard before.

So the next time my parents were allowed in to see me, I told them "I got saved."

This is where it all began. That very night I had what I can only call a vision. Never had anything remotely like this before. It wasn't what you'd think of as being a traditional vision...more like a revelation of sorts, but God showed me something I've rarely ever shared with anyone.

Anyway, almost immediately after that, I began to change. I wasn't the one making the change...it was just happening. For the first time, I found myself caring about other people. Nurses, doctors, friends, family, strangers....I had a love for people.

This blew my mind. I can even still remember the first time I realized something was different in me.

The next change I realized was that I suddenly wanted to go to church. What the...???? Where in the world did that come from..?

I had NO idea things were supposed to change in someone when they were born again. I didn't even know what born again meant..! But man...I was a completely different person, almost overnight. I was literally a NEW CREATION..!!!

Now, it's been 17 years since that time and I've been growing closer to God ever since. I'm still changing in ways I never imagined.

Since that time I've had experiences that were WAY beyond reasonable explanation. Some I can share, some I can't. I've had prayers answered that were unbelievable...WAT past being a coincedence. I've seen tons of other people have their lives changed after calling upon God as well.

I even saw three angels in my church once. They looked nothing like I would have figured. They weren't white with wings....they were shiney trasparent gold. Go figure..!! But there they were and they were REAL.

I've seen demons cast out. I've seen a 20 year alcoholic walk into a tent meeting with a six pack of beer in his arms, hear the Gospel, walk out of the tent, pour out the beer, give his life to Jesus, never take another drink, never have a withdrawl, and marry a woman in my church.

I saw a local drug dealer in the same tent meetings fall to his knees after hearing the Gospel with tears running down his face. I've seen people healed. I've even received instant healings..! All in the name of Jesus Christ.

God spoke to me that day I called out to Him and God still speaks to me and helps me daily. He spared the life of a totally worthless excuse for a human and showed him mercy, compassion and love. He then changed his life forever. I'll be eternally greatful.

There's quite a bit more I can share but this post is big enough. Jesus is real. Jesus is alive. And Jesus is without a doubt the only Savior of the World. The True King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

God bless you all...

Tim L.
