I bet it always happens. An Atheist dies (in this case by a hit-and-run driver while he was walking along the sidewalk) and his ghost ascends to heaven to be assessed by our loving Creator.

"Why are you here? What is it you want?" says our Creator.

"I want justice! The world you created sucks! There is constant war and strife among the humans you created. Good people die while the bad seem to live happy, content lives. The greedy prosper; the poor remain poor. "

"So it is justice you desire."

"No, Lord, it is justice I demand! How much longer must the Human race put up with a god that allows for injustice, rather than justice? 12 million innocent people fell by the sword in Nazi Germany. Abject poverty rules the continent of Africa, while America sleeps comfortably in wealth. Hunger amongst your people is the status quo. The "Brotherhood of Man" is an absolute farce. And to complete your diabolical plan for the Human race, you send your so-called Son to tell us to forgive and ignore all this evil that man does!"

"Thus, forgiving the man who offends is not what you request?"

"Forgiveness is a worthless concept! I have sinned against my fellow man, sure. But it wasn't forgiveness I needed. What good would it do for the man I offended to forgive me? It was justice that I needed. It was justice that the offender needed. The wealthy man who tells the bum to get a job needs justice, not forgiveness. The housewife who has an affair with the milkman needs justice, not forgiveness. What an awful, terrible world you have allowed!"

"So. We have arrived at the final conclusion. You do not want forgiveness; you want justice."

"NO! I demand justice!"

"You demand justice?"

"I do."

"If it is justice you demand, then it is justice you shall have.
I shall thus sentence you to an eternity in Hell."

Voicing your opinion sends you to hell? He was merely stating his position concerning how well of a job he felt that God had done. I'm sorry, dude, but I'm going to have to disagree with your post because you're not God and you can't speak out for him nor judge in his place. If you were supportive of this brotherhood of man, then you should be the good Christian and be unjudging and accepting. I'm sorry I disagree, and I'm sorry you might like what I say, but I'm not sorry for voicing my opinion.

It sounds like to me that the "go to hell" card is just God's little loophole to keep from hearing what he doesn't want to hear, his creation's protests. I digress, I can't speak out against you because the character of God in the story was depicted by man, and therefor your position is biased and stubborn.

If you haven't noticed, that is basically how religion thinks God judges.

If you have an opinion that God doesn't exist or that christianity or islam is wrong, you are going to hell. It is all based on opinions, not facts.

So he was guilty, in your opinion, because of original sin. Damned if you don't, eh.

Sorry, dude, but I still agree with the serpent in the story of the little garden.

The whole "Don't eat it, or you die." "Eat it. He just doesn't want you to reach your full potential, besided you won't really die, he lied," kind of thing.

Besides, I've always disagreed with original sin ever since being a Christian; it was just a silly idea. A prejudice by God on his creation because they excercized their free will. Of course, I'm not saying your wrong or anything, I just steadily disagree. K?

If you believe man may excersize his freewill; and that the free excersize thereof is not prejudiced by our Creator whatever that excersize may be, then what use do you have for Christianity?

But if it as God who made us sinful and unjust and God who created our nature then he'd sentence us to hell for something that is his own responsibility?
Conepts like "good" and "evil" are fundamental to our being. Can you think of anything that's more fundamental? I mean, just watch any movie at Hollywood Video. Almost all of them center around the concepts of good and evil. And in many of these movies, good usually prevails.

Now if these concepts--goo and evil-- were not fundamental to our beings, then our lives and the things we do would not revolve so much around reward and punishment.

I'm sorry this has nothing to do with your original post.

...and that the free excersize thereof is not prejudiced by our Creator whatever that excersize may be, then what use do you have for Christianity?

So is somebody (God) cranky because they made a mistake? I disagree with your post, you make it sound as though he's prejudice against his own decision and therefor is damning another because of a flaw in his grand design. Atleast, that's the concept I grasp from your message.

You guys are missing the point entirely. Everyone (Christian, Jew, Muslim) knows that man was born into sin,

Knows or assumes 'that he knows'?

yet this sinner requested justice rather than forgiveness. God merely fulfilled his request.

The sinner in the OP was an atheist, you stated : Everyone (Christian, Jew, Muslim) knows

Your view of an atheist in the OP is one from Christian perspective. The way you described it was that the atheist knew that god existed, yet he was an atheist, and was complaining how god had created the world. You assume that atheist 'know' god exists, just like you assume religious people know that god exists.

There is no such thing as freewill... you only believe what your brain accepts to believe, and your brain accepts to believe based on circumstantial information and genetics.

So, nonchristians get what they ask for?

What happens if someone meets the creator and says "Well, I wasn't expecting this! Guess you do exist ... So tell me, why do you make it so hard for people to believe in you?" ;)

Absolutely, my friend. Hope you are doing well!

;)

indeed... i am well, thank you for asking. you?

i find it quite interesting to read these sorts of threads... in particular, i find it very insightful to see the hypothetical conversations that theists indulge in during their pretend dialog with non-Christians.

of course, that we don't hold those views and so forth is completely irrelevant to the point being made, don't ya know ;)
