Faith is the substance of things hoped for – It is the proof of things that we have not seen. Heb 11:1. The substances of faith are to believe in God John 14:1 and have faith towards our Lord Jesus Christ. Acts 20:21
We are commanded that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ 1John 3:23. We also believe in the writings of Moses John 5:46 and all things which are written in the law and in the prophets Ac 24:14.
We believe the promises of God, and being fully persuaded by it. We see that, what He has promised He was able to carry it out Ro 4:21. To them that have obtained precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Savior Jesus Christ: 2Pe 1:1
WE build up ourselves on Your most holy faith Jude 1:20 Remembering without ceasing Your work of faith, and labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father; 1Th 1:3 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith Heb 12:2. We will through faith and patience, inherit the promises Heb 6:12 that has been given to us by God.

First we have to conceive a word.
The mind must first be enlightened by Divine instruction or word before it can discern the things of the Spirit. Agreement to the truth is at the core of faith, and the final opinion on which our approval, to any revealed truth rests.
Daniel 2:29 As for thee, O king, thy thoughts came into thy mind upon thy bed, what should come to pass hereafter: and he that revealeth secrets maketh known to thee what shall come to pass.

Faith is in general the persuasion of the intellect that a certain proclamation is true; its most important motivation is trust. A thing is true, and therefore worthy of trust. It admits of many degrees up to full reassurance of belief, in agreement with the evidence on which it rests.
There are biblical and non-biblical things that require faith.
Biblical substances like: -
. Remission of sins - Acts 10:43; Ro 3:25
. Justification - Acts 13:39; Ro 3:21,22,28,30; 5:1; Ga 2:16
. Salvation - Mark 16:16; Acts 16:31

WOW! Now that ios the kind of statement that I have to read 40 times and it makes my brain itch!
Yes!! meditate on it - after a time it will 'sink' in

Non-biblical substances like: -
. To step out in faith to do something for God.
. Anything to do with a person’s personal life

God can even tell us to do things that are non-kosher, like the offering of Isaac. It was, and still is, demonic to offer and kill you child. Gen 22:1-10

After receiving a word from God we have to act on it by word and deed.
To act in word is to call forth the word that have not manifest yet in faith as if it already has.
Romans 4: and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

To act in deed, is to do a manifestation like being baptized. To be baptized is not really to be buried with Christ but it implies it and after a while the ‘old man’ dies and a new creation rise with Christ.

Genesis 30:38 And he set the rods which he had pilled before the flocks in the gutters in the watering troughs when the flocks came to drink, that they should conceive when they came to drink.
39 And the flocks conceived before the rods, and brought forth cattle ringstraked, speckled, and spotted.
This is a act of faith.
