An alternative view to the mark on the forehead and hand

Interesting, Brian. I haven't ever heard of that particular view of the "mark" yet. How do you see it fit in with the "buying and selling" part of Rev. 13? Will the entire world be forced to wear phylacteries?

Why can't yall see that the "chip" is a prelude to the mark, it has all the attributes....And it is growing by leaps and bounds. There are countries that are lining up to get the technoligy to implement it.

Hi RKF; I'm not certain that the chip will be the future "mark of the beast", but I can see it getting abused. The intentions of having the chip are good, for medical reasons; but like most things, somebody will likely ruin it.

I guess we'll see how far our technology takes us in twenty years or so.

Will America still be "free" then I wonder?

20 years, I don't believe we have ten left. Just because the intentions are good, doesn't mean that it is good for us. It is bad......very, very bad.....Can you see anything elae that has come along that would be considered a prelude to the mark that has the same attributes, controling buying, selling etc.....?

The mark is a freightening thing, especially because of the consequences. When a mark(symbol, barcode, chip) is required to purchase or sell anything then I will start to panic. Otherwise I dont think its a big deal. Just be aware of what's going around you and you will be ok.

I have heard, but can't confirm, that a bent cross was used at one time (maybe still is?) by satanists as a "mark" to show their beliefs.

Do a search (I did www.google.com) on bent cross or broken cross. There are a lot of web sites on occult symbols. There are many occult symbols that disfigure the cross (70's peace sign, nazi symbol, etc.)

The strange thing is, I'm not wanting to start a debate on the pope, the inverted cross is widely acknowledged as a symbol of satan.

Those kind of things have been in use for a LONG time, back from when the pharisees wore the box on their forehead and stuff because God said "write the word on your forehead" or something like that. But the final symbol will be something of greater value to the world. A prayer box brings attention to God, however, I have the feeling that this "sign" won't.

Plus the box isn't required to buy or sell, and that is not the Jewish intent of things, so although the placement is correct I don't think it will happen. (If it does I will think you very wise though )

To me the whole data chip thing seems the most plausible explanation so far. Because of many reasons:
1-The important role of credit cards (and the chips therein)
2-Our American wave to small microchip things
3-The use of this already to track dogs
4-The New Jersey scientist who already implanted one on himself
5-And just human nature to do something stupid even though it has been cautioned for 1000's of years!

The harlot of Revelations is Rome or Vatican city...It fits better than Jerusalem...Look at what she is robed in and look at what the cardinals and bishops wear..Hmmmmm. Just a thought.

Great post ? But what does it all mean? The city is decked in gold, and robed in Purple and scarlet Sounds like the catholic church to me. Don't the cardinals and bishops wear purple and scarlet, hasn't the catholic church made the world drunk with her false doctrines? Hasn't she shed more blood then any other? I haven't heard of any christians falling in love with Jerusalem?

I know what you saying. I believe there is a great desire for some to have the city of Jerusalem, and it will be a part of the covenant that the anti-christ makes between the two warring factors. The Israelis want it and the Arabs want it, the reason being is that they know the history of the city, and they know that it is a city in which God blessed. I thank God for the new Jerusalem, with it's streets of gold......I think the only reason that christians fall in love with it is because they see a connection between the old and new city...What do you think?

I agree with your connection of the old and the new Jerusalem. As for as the harlot, given the context, that at this time the tribulation is well underway. I suspect the harlot to represents the one world united church that will worship tolerance in the name of unity. I do not believe it is specific to any one church or religious system, but the unity of these entities as a whole. Of course I am a pre tribulation rapturist. This would mean to me, the harlot will be a united secular church made up of all those who are not saved, after the rapture takes place. I know we may not agree on all things, but it is clear that we agree on a last period of earth history that is about to unfold. I find that very exciting. Peace, but not yet.

I agree that it is a united church, and that is already under way, and it is lead by the catholic church, Yes they have agreed that all could join as long as they agreed that as long as they believe in a higher power then they could join. Frightening isn't it. That includes Muslims, mormons, anyone even jews.....

Not Arabs but Muslims, there is a difference. not all Arabs are muslim, not all muslims are arabs....ecumenism has already started, San Fran, in 95 and later in Chicago they signed their proclimation.
