Hello,

I'm not sure what you mean when you're asking how to repent for 2005. Unless you mean simply, "how does a person repent"? I can answer that one, but the part I don't understand is the part that refers to this year.

Could you explain what you meant by that? Thank you.

Ann

The same way you repent for any lost time . By being honest before The Lord , confessing your sins , and letting the godly sorrow which comes from being honest before him , do it's work upon your heart .

He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. <-----> Proverbs 28:13

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. <-----> 1st John 1:9

For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin. <-----> Psalm 38:18

And he [ Jesus ] beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner?
Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
<-----> Luke 20:7+8

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. <-----> Psalm 57:17

Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.
For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
<-----> 2nd Corinthians 7:9+10

Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word. <-----> Psalm 119:67

Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. <-----> Revelation 2:5

And revenge your past wasting of precious time by engaging in fulfilling works of faith and charity , and the blessedness of God working through and in you will take the " glitter " away from that which is not " gold " . ( See Revelation 3:18 ) And put an Everlasting Shine upon your salty soul .

Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
<-----> Matthew 5:13-16

The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
<-----> Matthew 13:41-43

Wherefore the rather,brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
<-----> 2nd Peter 1:10+11

It's a whole lot easier to " keep oneself in the Love of God " , when we are keeping ourself with others' well being directly in mind .

May The Lord Be Pleased To Bless and Inspire By His Word . To The Glory of God . Amen .

Sincerely ,

wm

well, surely you dont mean for the whole year of 2005 because its not over,
its no different than what repenting was after jesus died.
you confess your faults, to christ. if you are not a christian, ask him to come into your heart, and live for him.

I did it once

Repentance is the feeling and act in which one recognizes and tries to right a wrong, or gain forgiveness from someone that they wronged. In religious contexts it usually refers to repenting for a sin against God. It always includes an admission of guilt, and also includes at least one of: a solemn promise or resolve not to repeat the offense; an attempt to make restitution for the wrong, or in some way to reverse the harmful effects of the wrong where possible.

But I lost all my reputations so I don't know what to do with that.

that still doesnt explain how you plan to right wrongs you havent yet commited.
unless you want to pretend (like you enjoy doing) like you have a feeling of guilt or regret for things you assume will happen in the future.

either ways its only idealistic and not a very firm thought, and not really in line with Christianity anyway.
if you do sincerly feel that way, you generally aviod sinning, not just repent or ask forgiveness before hand. people who love God choose not to sin, they dont just express their feeling of regret or conviction.

we should repent as soon as we realize we have done something wrong. That way we don't get behind. Really God knows your heart and what you are truly repentant for so just be honest with Him...and ask he will forgive!!!!

But you must forgive so that you can be forgiven.
What if God said no, this boy has sinned too many time I can't forgive him...how terrible that would be. But that is not the Spirit of God he loves and He is just and true and willing to forgive a repentant heart. And guess what? That same Spirit dwells in you if you are His child...and it is by His Love and His Grace that we can Find the strength to forgive those who have sinned against us.
It is okay to be angry at sin, but the person or people who encouraged you to do so, God loves them too! And you should pray that they come to know the Lord so that you can Love them as a new creation, as God loves us as a new creation, and sees not our sinful past once we are forgiven!!!

Forgivness is not a feeling, it is a choice.......
and with confession of that forgivness we believe we have forgave
God will heal the feelings of unforgivness which is now a lie of the devil because you confessed otherwise.
Ask God to give you peace toward these people....
when you let go of the unforgivness
you let go of the torment!!!

God was with you all the time, hoping you would turn to Him and not the sin
but usually it involves a choice, and sometimes we listen to the wrong voice.
The devil is like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour.....
temptations and influences will always be there, but God will alwaysprovide a way of escape if you turn to Him.
I was molested as a child, that in no way had anything to do with God, that was a demented mind influenced by the devil, the devil thhought he had me, but all things work together for the good to those who are in Christ jesus, as horrible as this act was, it is the very reason I am serving God today, I couldn't bare that pain and torment alone, so I came to Him, and He delivered me from all hatred and unforgivness!!! What a wonderful feeling to be free of that and no longer be tormented by the devil...that is what he wants for you....God wants you to be free

Be blessed, I am praying for you!!!:prayer:
