Hi,

If you add up the ages and years you will discover that the world is around 6000 years old. I believe that to be true because the bible says that Adam was the first man, ever. I have not heard an evoulution theory that I agree with yet, So those are my beliefs. Have a good day!

The way most scientists deal with it (if they're Christians) is to say that the creation story in the Bible is not literal, and is not particularly meant to be literal.

The Bible is God's message to us. It is a message about morality, salvation, and God's love for us.

It is not a textbook for math, biology, physics, cosmology, or any other kind of science.

Why is it relevant to you what the bible says about the age of the earth?

Do you think that is a spiritual matter?

Do you think a benevolent god would put evidence here to test your faith by making all signs point to an earth much older than what the bible says?

How could this possibly impact your life?

PRoverbs 18:13 . . .Don't talk about a matter unless you understand it.

Evolution doesn't talk about the age of the Earth, which is estimated by other disciplines as 4.5 billion years. It doesn't address differences between the bible and the science. That is beyond the scope of evolutionary theory. The Theory is that life changes over time. This has been observed, micro AND macro evolution...new species have developed and been recorded.

If you take Genesis as a parable, the idea that God is the cause behind what we see, that he is the reason Mankind is different, and that we owe him our souls, and that we are fundamentally imperfect, then it doesn't have a disparity with anything found buried in the ground we are to have come from.

FYI, science has gives the age of the Earth as 4.55 billion years give or take a percent.

Question: what does the above have to do with your subject line ("evolution")? Science figured out the Earth is far longer than 6000 years long before evolution became established in science.

About the age of the earth, I have always figured that God made it "mature", the same way he made man "mature" (an adult), and everything else in the universe.

I think the earth has only been in existance for roughly 6000 years, but at the time if it's creation, was already millions of years mature.

So, you also agree that God deceives us....?

And the scriptures back this view up how exactly? Now if the earth is only 6000 years old and is only supposed to exist for a few thousand years until judgement day - how can one say it is millions of years mature. WOuldn't that be like a man being created millions of years mature.
