Yes...it is true. I have had flashes of this. Its not right first of just being a member of the church but to make matters worse, I'm an officer for our church. I don't know what it is. I think it may be Satan just getting to me because lately I have been fighting back and maybe that is the reason why. I'm not sure. But I know it's Satan because today while I was thinking and got to the front of my and I said some weird things like, "Sometimes I wish I wasn't a Christian so I could get wasted and all that stuff." And then, somehow I got to this phrase in my mind, "I don't want to believe in God anymore" THAT SHOULD NEVER COME OUT! So yea...I don't know what it is. Maybe it's just a bad week or I don't know. I got a retreat this weekend so I hope those conflicts will get resolved. Any ideas?

It's satan. (Notice the lower case). When this type of thing happens, you need to be in the Word. It's your weapon. I'm not sure what scripture it is, it might be in Ephesians, or Galatians; if you have a concordance, you can looked it up. Or maybe go to an online Bible concordance, like Alpha Omega and type in some keywords. Anyway, there is a scripture that says drunkards can't enter the kingdom of heaven. That should sober you up a little bit. Remember, the things we do in this life, are but a mist compared to eternity. It's not worth it to get wasted, or do other things that are detestable to God; we need to be diligent about making our calling and election all the more sure. The second phrase you spoke about, sounds like you are low on faith right now; what you need to do is speak to some people in your congregation about how God has really moved in their lives. What helped me, is I have started a journal, and I write down everytime I see God moving in my life, and how. Or anytime, I see God in other peoples' lives. It helps me refocus on why I believe in Him, if I'm low on faith -I can always go back to it, and read. We have to be active in our walk with God; the enemy walks around seeing who he can devour; so we need to be on our toes, and take action whenever and where-ever it is needed. We fight the enemy with God's word. Everything good comes from it. The enemy is in the dark, so we need to consume ourselves with the light of God as much as possible; if the enemy is anywhere near you; heavy duty exposure to God's light, will blind him sending him scampering away. You just need to hang on to God as much as possible right now. I hope this helps you.

the thing is, a pure and holy life is not something you go and get, its not a place you reach in Christ, its not a thing you can learn, its not a thing you can attain or have yourself blessed with. its not something you pray for and recieve.

the bible says in ephesians 6 that we must put on the whole armour of God, so we wont be defeated.
and thing is, the armor of God arent tricks to overcoming sin.
they arent just techniques, they describe a way of life that you must force yourself to walk in everyday. you have to physically put it on everytime you enter the battle.
one of them is called preperation and it is described a person binding shoes to his feet, so that later they wont fall off or so he is bare footed.

you cant reach a place in Christ where you become pure and holy and dont want to ever sin again. thats not how it works.
you have to literally take and bind purity to yourself, like a man binds shoes to his feet. you have to obligate yourself to things, like he obligates himself to that shoe. there are things you have to absolutely make sure you do.

things like reading your bible everyday of yourlife, praying and spending time alone with God everyday of your life, fasting from time to time, attending church regularly.

things you know you need to do in order to live holy.
you have to begin to do them no matter what, make yourself do them consistently, and the day you fail to do them, is the day that you are like a runner who simply doesnt put his shoes on before a race and loses the race because he hurts his foot.

your Godliness isnt going to be firm, untill your Godly ways are firm.

it isnt that we grow out of sinning, but its more like just learning to put your armour back on everyday and if you dont, even the most seasons warriors can fall.

there are things you just gotta do, solomon said in proverbs the very first thing you should learn is to fear or respect God so you follow his commandements, and in ecclesiastes he said the end of all wisdom is to simply fear or respect God and follow his commandments.
all the wisdom of the bible, is simply trying to get us to just do what God says to do.

but if you fall down, dont let it condemn you, i know this is simple, but its true.
but just like your natural doesnt smack you everytime you disobey. God doesnt either, hes just focused on moving forward.
and if God isnt angry at you, dont be angry at yourself.
thats pride, to think your opinion of yourself can any diffrent than Gods.

we do have to GROW up in Christ, just like we change and learn and grow in wisdom as we get older, the same in Christ, you are probly suffering from things you dont even know anything about, and its not just that you are a bad person. but you dont even know whats tripping you up.
and it will take time and God revealing those things to you.

the bible says the way of a righteous man is like the day getting brighter an brighter.
our holiness is in progression, and it is never as bright in the beggining as at the end, and that means ok to not be perfect today, thats just not how it works.
but overtime, the word will change you and prayer will bring you closer to God, and overtime youll be able to look back and see youve grown.

but you have to get some things you know you need to be doing, and make sure you do them from now for the rest of your life.
when you just might or might not do them, you are shaky and God cant build.
these retreats and specail times, arent just times of Joy, they are times to teach us how to live for the rest our lives. people live diffrent on church retreats then at home, and wonder why they dont feel or act the same way. you have to bring it all home with you.
no good thing you can learn or do is any good if you stop doing it.

just know that God does desire to see you holy and all pure, but untill you are, your justified by grace.
theres no one in your church that doesnt find evil thoughts and feelings come through them.
casting down unclean imaginations and bad thoughts and bring all your thoughts into obedience, is the war that all Christians face.
