Bible 100% True

Hmmm... Have you been collecting firewood today? WHAT! ITS A SUNDAY. Now I must stone you to death, 'cause it says to in the Bible.

God may have wrote the Bible, but he wrote it through humans, and humans make mistakes. Did God say the Bible is 100% true? No (if He did please show me). He showed Paul how useful it was and so on, did Paul though, make a mistake in his letter to Timothy?

the scripture you quote future was under the law. As christians we are no longer under the law.

as to the main question...

IF we believe that the bible is not 100% accuarate which parts do we believe?
What happens is what I like to call "cafeteria" christianty, were I only take what I want to hear.
Truely I trust the bible better then my own, flawed judgement. There are times that the bible is challenging, difficult and tell me things I don't want to hear. Any problems I have with the bible I feel are my own lack of understanding, and immaturaty rather then the book its self.
The book has remained unchanged for almost 2000 years. My mind and feelings change everyday.
I know as I mature and grow as a christian the Lord will teach me and revael more to me through his word.

The Bible is the infallible Word of God. Stoning someone for not observing the Sabbath was an OT Law, not a NT law.
"Jesus is the end of the Law for righteousness, for those who belive in His name."
or better yet even: "One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind. He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord; and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it.
He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he who does not eat, to the Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks." (Romans 14:5-6)

Hi futuresoldier,

God didn't just say the Bible is useful, He said it was God breathed. This refers to scripture (i.e. writings on paper) not to the revelation. So this verse is actually talking about scripture after it was written. It also implies that the cannon process and subsequent process of translations were and will be protected. Read it carefully.

BTW, the Jewish Sabbath is Saturday.
We are also not bound by O.T. law for several reasons, the first of which is we are a nation based on laws. Even the Jews of Jesus' time had to have permission from the Roman officials to enforce the Torah law. We are given to obey authority both civil and Biblical and in that order.

Blessings

16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

The laws of the OT were given to Moses by God because the people at that time were unable to keep to the covenant themselves. They needed God to set down some rules/guidelines for their lives. As BK and others have said, there is a new covenant as revealed through Jesus.

"I may be wrong on this one, but wasn't the Mosaic Law given to Moses by God only to the people of Isreal? I didn't think we came into the picture until the new covenant that united the Jews and Gentiles as one. "

Not exactly. Yes, you are correct that the new covenant came into the picture with Christ. The Law was bound over everyone. Thus the book of romans and Pauls statement, "For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God" You can read chpater 3 of romans for more :) I would also point out the inclusiveness of verses 19 and 20. Verse 9 says it more plainly. "...We have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under sin."

hahahaha..If you had seen this before I edited it..bews and bentiles! hahaha...okay, *wipes eyes* that was funny.

as everyone said, we live under Grace.

look at this example of Jesus's take on stoning:
In John chapter 8, the Pharisees brought a woman caught in the act of adultery in front of Jesus,
verse 4, "In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?"
Instead of agreeing with them, Jesus asked for the one who're sinless to stone the woman, and everyone went away. At the end,
"Neither do i condemn you," Jesus declared, "Go now and leave your life of sin."

obviously, the Law of Moses is not to be blindly followed. There's also an example on how Jesus healed a person on the sabbath and was accused by the Jews. So do we really do nothing on the Sabbath? don't preach, don't help the needy, don't work?

Matthew 5:17-20

Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

Luke 16:17

It is easier for heaven and earth to disappear than for the least stroke of a pen to drop out of the Law.

for Jesus came to fulfill the law, and by law, it means the ten commandments, not the tradition hundreds of tedious laws kept by the Jews.

From the Quest: Study bible,
Christ's death and resurrection removed the law as a mean of coming to God, replacing it with salvation by faith in Christ's finished work.
