Because many of the Preachers in our Churches sadly say nothing and that makes me    big time is because many of them especially many in the Mega-churches have become as ego-driven and money-driven as folks like Meyers have.

Also, many of them friends with folks like Meyers and it is okay to criticize the sins of Non-Christians,but not okay for business to criticize the behavior of renegade Lukewarm Preachers in our churches or folks like Meyers and other TV Preachers.

Because it's not right for Preachers to bash other preachers openly like that, a house divided against itself cannot stand. Christianity would look much worse if you had preachers talking about other ministries, the world already does enough to tear ministries down without other preachers doing it to each other. ;)

Also, don't forget that Moses grew up rich too, he was raised in the Pharoe's Temple! Look how God used him. :) God's not against people being rich, it is not stealing if people give it to you. Don't forget that Joyce also gets her money from her book sales and tape sells and other business things, it's not all strictly from people's tithes. She doesn't charge people to come to her meetings, she doesn't make people give in tithes.

The Pope doesn't live too shabbily either, nor Billy Graham, nor Jerry Falwell, nor Oral Roberts, nor Rod Parsely, nor D. J. Kennedy, nor Charles Stanley, nor Adrian Rogers, nor any preacher I can think of with a congregation of any size.

Actually, Billy Graham lives a relatively modest lifestyle in Montreat, N.C.

I'm kind of curious to know how Adrian rodgers lives and how you know about how he lives.

I would agree with this, surprisingly enough. She's not forcing anyone to pay, and she's sold enough books and tapes and so on....why shouldn't she be rich? No one complains that Stephen King is rich because he's sold a few million copies of a book. My complaint would be that she doesn't pay taxes on a lot of that income. Oh, well.

If suckering willing people out of their money were a crime, we'd have no politicians. Sales of botox and breast implants would plummet. Diet pills and infomercials and "enhancement" drugs would be a thing of the past. As far as I'm concerned, if you're not willing to do some actual research to determine where your charitable money is going, then you deserve to get swindled.

Wanna give money away? Find the struggling artist on your block or the young widow who needs help. Don't throw the funds at an organization and assume that your money will be well spent.

And do I hear anyone clammoring for taxes to be paid on all of this wealth? NOOOOOOO, because everyone is afraid to be called bigots if they made them pay taxes on all of this boondoggle. I, for one, would highly respect anyone who made these people pay up. Tax free status should be withdrawn from any church that owns more than a modest church, mosque, temple, that handles say 200 people, and if they own anything else except a graveyard and rectory/pastors house, they pay the same taxes as everyone else.

Crystal cathedrals, gold mines, diamond mines, amusement parks, elaborate theme parks, retirement communities, apartment complexes, colleges and universities, televisions studios, radio stations, newspapers, magazines, book publishers, etc. all should be taxed. And since the religious ones support this government that's racking up $1 trillion in deficit spending, they should be happy to help offset that by paying up.

The church is tax free, her personal income is not, unless of course she is doing some fancy accounting and claiming her 100.000 Mercedes for her husband is somehow doing God's work like transporting the needy to and from services

The fact that Meyer lives the way she does isn't a huge surprise because financial accountability in the Word of Faith movement isn't a big priority.

I am happy that someone finally decided to take a stand against her, though. Now if we can just get Hinn off the air.

Hinn will be taken off the air,not just on KXVO in Omaha but hofully taken off the air everywhere including TBN

Benny Hinn has threatened Bodily harm to the children and grandchildren of those who criticize him and why anyone would support this guy when he has threatened harm to children bothers me

I have only heard Benny Hinn once in my life, and it was a message on salvation. It was perfect, as far as I'm concerned. But other than that, I don't know much about him.
What is this thing, about Hinn threatening bodily harm on kids???

And Joyce Myers hasn't committed any crimes that I know of. She hasn't stolen anything, but critics like to manipulate things around, to try and win there case against her.
Has she spent her money wisely? Who can say? She has taken care of the ministry she is running, and that costs millions every year. But other than that, where has she spent the money? How many churchs has she built, or familys has she helped financially?

Being a minister is a job, like any other job. Not everyone who is of God, can be a minister, like Joyce and many others. Some have to be farmers, and lawyers, and things like that.
Well a minister has there job, and last I looked, a job pays money. They worked for there money, so they should have the right to spend it how they please, with in the law.
But you can't tell that to a critic, because a critic only wants to see, what they want to see.

But I don't know Joyce personally, perhaps she is a crook, but I have no evidence for such claims. And the people that are taking her off of the air, have a problem with her teachings, rather than her spendings.
From what I have heard from her teachings, I think she is a warrior for God, a powerfull speaker that has help change my life.

That is how some of these people are getting away with this by claiming their expensive and abusive lifestyles count somehow as church related expenses

Right, so you are ignorant of the fact that people like her and Jerry Falwell, Jim Bakker, Benni Hinn, Oral Roberts, [edited by moderator] and all the rest of the con artists are the reason so many people find your religion not credible? Are you blind?

:)

You are right, it isn't stealing if someone gave it to you, but it is obscene to not share it with those who need it. I don't understand how someone can be this wealthy and not feel bad, but hey that's me. If I called her and asked her to help me with the international adoption I am interested in that is going to cost me 30 grand that I do not have, will she assist me? or will I be laughed away? How can someone who is supposedly doing Gods' work have this much? I don't get it.

No I am not blind, and no I am not ignorant to what other so-called ministers and preachers are doing, I'm just saying that Christians do not need to be putting down other ministers when the world does enough to try discredit Christianity anyway. That doesn't mean condone their behaviour or agree with it, we just don't need to be mocking each other, we need to band together against the world.
