In a do-or-die battle for the Hawkeye State, Democratic presidential hopeful Dick Gephardt said Tuesday that front-runner Howard Dean won't have much luck beating President Bush in November because of his "ludicrous" comment that Saddam Hussein's capture had not made America safer.

Looks like Dick is taking a page from Lieberman...

Dean has had so many mistakes. I really hope he gets the nomination. The leftest media has even turned on him realizing that they can't win unless it's Clark, then they have a chance. But good for Dick. I like Joe Liberman, he's a fine republican.

Go down to Dearborn, MI, which has the highest Arab concentration in the US, especially Iraqi. They are all overjoyed that Saddam was captured but they realize that it's not going to make America one bit safer. I don't consider confused old men living in tiny holes in the Middle East a threat to my safety.

I don't know why we even went after Saddam, seems like this is Bush's reasoning...

"Well, I can't catch Osama... and I can't let the public down so... I Know!!! I will place half the blame of terrorism on an easy target, Saddam! Yes! Then they will forget about me and my inability to capture Osama."

Newsflash: the left-wing media is a joke. Isn't that obvious by now?

Dean is simply getting all the attention because he's in the lead. They'd all be getting the same treatment if they were in the number 1 spot. Watch this happen to Clark should he turn things around.

I like to think that Clark has a good shot given his military experience but let's face it, in general Americans obviously don't care if their President has served or not (whether it's make-believe like Bush or otherwise).

I like Joe Liberman, he's a fine republican.
No kidding. That's why his campaign is imploding.

I think Gehpardt needs to be a bit careful about going after Dean on this one. Capturing Saddam is great for the people of Iraq but our troops are still dying over there and our terror alert level is still high in some sectors (and ironically jumped up to high just after capturing Saddam).

While we're talking about terror alert levels, I think it's going to be interesting to see how the coming election plays in with this system. Obviously, the Administration will want to keep that sucker low, but they don't want to be seemingly caught off guard either.

Gephardt looks like a fool for these criticisms.

Just days after Dean was originally criticized for these statements, the country went to Terror Level Orange for over 2 weeks. Obviously, we are not safer. And don't forget the dozens of soldiers in Iraq that have since been killed.

Gephardt can call it 'ludicrous' if he likes, but Dean was proven 100% correct.
