animal spirits

God only made man in His own Image, not animals. Whether or not they have spirits and souls is not mentioned in the Bible - so the truthful answer is nobody knows - but only man was made in God's own image - and it was only man who was seperated from God by the Fall at Eden, so only man needs to be redeemed.

Scripture doesn't say yes, or no, say God decided to let us find out when we get to heaven.

My prediction: We will get a warm welcome from our old pets at our heavenly mansion. A another awesome suprise of God.

If not, ah well. I know it wont bother me because well, I won't worry about anything in Heaven!

I believe that man is body, soul and spirit...but animals are body and soul.

The soul consists of the mind, the will and the emotions - which all animals have. The spirit encompasses character, creativity and conscience. We are made in God's image, in that, He is Spirit and he made us in His image by giving us a spirit in like manner to His and it is through our spirit that God speaks to us (in the main).

Psalm 36:6 Thy righteousness is like the mountains of God, thy judgments are like the great deep; man and beast thou savest, O LORD

Revelation 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

2 Kings 6:17
And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

Remember Balaam's donkey? She saw the angel and responded to God's permission to talk? If she didn't have a spiritual component, how did she have the ability to see something that existed in the spiritual realm (the angel), or respond to God?

Remember the fig tree that Jesus cursed? He cursed it because it didn't respond to His command to bear figs when He wanted them. How could He expect a soulless tree to respond to Him? If it didn't have a spiritual awareness, how could it have know He was God?

Remember the big fish, the little fish, the ram, and all the other animals that figure in God's plan? How could they have obeyed God if they didn't have spirits? How could they have even heard Him, if they didn't have "spiritual ears"?

one interesting thing i always like to ask when people bring up something similar to, "will my dog spot goto heaven when he dies?", is where do we draw the line of which animals we want in heaven and which animals we dont?

it seems that lots of people want the cute cuddly puppies and kittens and etc to goto heaven, but what about all the other living things out there? spiders, bats, herpes, diseases in general, all the blades of grass, the common cold, moss, algea, ameoba, mosquitos, etc. if somebody is arguing that animals do goto heaven, then i cant see why they could draw a line anywhere - to me that would mean that everything living went to heaven as well.

anyway, just funny how people want cuddly animals in heaven but i never hear about anybody asking, "will this bacterial infection in my lungs goto heaven when the doctors kill it?"

no biggie - its not beneficial to my salvation, i know im getting to heaven, whether or not animals do is between them and God i suppose. the Bible doesnt really give any clear indications one way or another - at least none i can see.

much Christian love!

Animals don't have souls, they are souls. Just like you and me.

Revelation 16:3, KJV
And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea.

Revelation 16, NASB
3 The second angel poured out his bowl into the sea, and it became blood like that of a dead man; and every living thing in the sea died.

Revelation 16, NKJV
3 Then the second angel poured out his bowl on the sea, and it became blood as of a dead man; and every living creature in the sea died.
