ok, recently i have felt that Satan has suddenly moved in on my life. I saw him in a dream of mine, but he was blonde, blue eyed..not like I would have thought. He promised me knowledge, freedom, he said that Christianity was slavery and that I could do better. I've been drawn to all kinds of satanic sites, and somehow it all makes sense to me.
I dont know what to do! I keep having these dreams about him but i don't want to fall out of my Father's arms. I've prayed to the Lord but I just dont feel like he's listening...help!

I guess... well, Satan has a lot of faces, especially deception. It's hard to notice him sometimes, actually, and he comes out in the oddest of places or in the sanest of people. So... perhaps there's someone you know trying to lead you away from God, and He's telling ya... "no, no, no... not with this dude/chick!" ::grins:: Keep an eye out, as Satan's always around ready to get'cha, and... God always has you in His arms. Don't fret. It's gonna be hard, but He'll work through it with ya.

And that's the best advice I can give, since I'm a new Christian. ::grins sheepishly:: Hope it was of a little help, though. ~.^

New Christian, what is that?
is there a split in Christianity, aswell?
eg:
Old (Traditional) Christianity
New (Modern) Christianity

just wondering!

No, it means she’s new to the Christian religion.

Corrigan, I hope you’ll find your right way in spite of these troubling dreams. They’re just dreams. I once dreamt I dropped a fingernail on the ground and it grew into a huge hand that destroyed the whole city. The city still stands. So don’t pay too much attention.

Blessed be.

Corrigan,

I guess that I want to encourage you to ask God to show you what these dreams mean, and ask Him to show you what you should do. I know that Satan is a liar, and that he is a very clever liar. Christianity is not slavery, but religion often is. Read through the bible, and you will see that it is full of God's people doing things that He really doesn't want them to do. He never forces anyone to do anything, even if it brings his judgement onto them. Look at many churches though, and often they put pressure on people to conform to what the church wants from them. BUT that is not God, it is just people who aren't listening to him very carefully.

As a christian, God has judged you to be righteous because of Jesus, so you have no reason to fear His judgement, and so no compulsion from fear. God has also promised to protect you, to love you, and He will never force you to respond to Him, or to trust Him, you have to choose to do that yourself (He is very helpful though, I wouldn't be able to do that at all without His help, but at times I have chosen not to love Him, and so I didn't - much to my regret now)

God bless.

ok...then the wiccans must have stolen it from the pagans..since wicca is only 50 years old..

Wiccans are what are called neo-pagans, which means they are a "newer" pagan religion, but with older roots. :) So nothing was 'stolen'.

Did a bit of quick research for ya--

Devil

To see the devil in your dream, signifies negative aspects of yourself. It may also indicate feelings of guilt that you have been harboring. It is time to release these feelings. Alternatively, the devil may represent intelligence, cunningness, deception, and cleverness.

To dream that you fought off the devil, symbolizes that you will succeed in defeating your enemies.

To dream that the devil talks to you, signifies that you will find some temptations hard to resist even though you know it is not in your best interest.

To dream that you and the devils were in friendly terms, suggests that you may be seduced and tempted into doing something you do not want to do. You may be dealing with issues of morality.

Above was from a dream site...

Hopes it helps.

hehehe I didn't know that dreams were so impersonal that they can be interpreted by lines that read like a horascope...

I have negative aspects, I feel guilt from the past, I find some temptation hard to resist, and I deal with issues of morality.

If I had a Devil dream, that entire "interpretation" is already true of my life, just waiting for me to believe that it isn't just generic life true of every living person, it is the real MEANING of my own personal dream.

I don't want to be scarcastic, but I can't help but wonder why it didn't also list that I will go shoping this week, and that I will talk to a friend soon.

That interpretation is only a small portion of the entire dream. If more information is needed, I will post a link.

Interpretations are possible explanations for dreams, not predictions of the future.

What I was trying to point out is that while interpretations like the one you posted my help people by making them consider various aspects of their life, they also draw attention away from other aspects, and there is no guarentee that the right aspects are heeded or ignored.

I would suggest that asking God (who knows your thoughts and unconcious mind) what a dream meant would in the long run be much more likely to be beneficial than trying to apply cliched and very broad reaching interpretations made by someone who doesn't know you at all. Sure the devil could represent temptation, i'm sure there is a connection between the two in all of our minds which could be brought out in a dream... but what if the dream means something unique to corrigan, and she gets distracted from it's true meaning by pale generalities which are always true of every living person?

I'm glad people appreciate help when it is given...

Not all dreams are warnings or prophecies.

Sure, I know, but when someone starts saying that they are suddenly finding themselves drawn to satanic sites, and feeling like its all making sense, and also having dreams about satan looking all smart and inviting telling him that Christianity is all bad, and he should follow satan instead, I start to think that he needs more than a chinese fortune cookie and a 'confucious says' :p

Confront him in your dreams with your faith in Christ. It has helped me...in slumber and in waking.
