Because the people will be blinded! The unknowing will think it is God in the temple and just assume that what he says is truth, the blinded will not question this false prophet.

Perhaps, he will say that only he is God and he will blaspheme the real God.

Notice that the AC 'sits' in the temple of God. In the temple there are no chairs and the only 'seat' in the temple would be the mercy seat, which is part of the top of the ark of the covenant and which the bible tells us is where the presence of God dwelt. By sitting in the mercy seat the AC is claiming to be 'I AM', ie Almighty God. As such he assigns 'the god of the bible' a lower rank and will probably recycle the age old arguements of 'why does 'god' allow evil to exist etc.

The Antichrist will tell us that he is Christ, and he will deceive many people, even many of God's people.

Imagine that a man appears on earth claiming that he is Jesus Christ, he brings peace to the earth, and performs many miracles. Would you believe him?

If the Antichrist deceives them... would they really be God's people? Jesus did say my sheep know Me, they know My voice and you cannot pluck them from My hand. It's paraphrased of course but it implies to me, God's people cannot be deceived.

The bible says that many of them will be deceived. If a man appeared claiming to be Jesus Christ, performing many miracles, and creating world peace, would you believe him? What if even the Pope supported him, saying that he really is the Christ?

Isn't that what happened 2000 yrs ago? I am still confused...

When the Anti-Christ comes into your reality...

He will claim to represent the "God"

He will bring religions together by incorporating parts of all religions into the "truth".

He will help people realize that humans are all gods.

He will come with signs and wonders.

Many will accept his "mark of God" before they know who he truly is.

I KNOW all this to be true.

Please remember that Satan's quarrel with God has always been...Who shall be the God over man?

But then, how can we be sure that we are not fooled?
