My father is against it due to the resurrection difficulties involved, but he admits that this is an extra-Biblical thought and indeed the Bible has nothing to say on the matter. So according to the Scriptures it is a neutral point. Either way you want your mortal coil to be disposed of, no sin is involved.

This body is just a "tent" for who we really are, but I believe every man should make a decision he is comfortable with and whatever is done, should be for the glory of God.

Blessings,

I don't believe that there is anything wrong with cremating. But Jesus said to him," Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead." Matthew 8:22

I suppose that is a reference to "burial", but the topic was a bit short on that..I will investigate more on the topic. If you are not sure, ask your pastor for help.

Great question becuaes I ahave often wondered this myself. I want to be cremated and have my ashes scattered. My daughter wants to know how I'll rise up to the sky in the rapture with my ashes lying everywhere. I don't have the answer for her I and am not concerned about it. I have just always been curious if cremation is scriptual or not.

Catechism of the Catholic Church:
2301 Autopsies can be morally permitted for legal inquests or scientific research. The free gift of organs after death is legitimate and can be meritorious.
The Church permits cremation, provided that it does not demonstrate a denial of faith in the resurrection of the body.

How about when I'm dead, feeding myself back to the earth, ie, to wolves or to trees?
I'm seriously considering that, because I think it's a waste(Yes I'm conservative) to have a body that is useless to take up space.

The only downfall is when police finds my skull in the forest and calls an un-necessary investigation.

Greetings Icystwolf,

Myself, having spent 21 years in the Navy, and having been an avid fisherman all my life, I would either liked to be "dumped at sea" as fish food, or donate my body to science/medical students. It's interesting you have similar thoughts.

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

I agree with flesh99 in that it is a neutral point because as far as I know (and I don't know much) the Bible doesn't talk about it. :D But there shouldn't be resurrection difficulties cuz God can do anything.

There is someone (I forgot his name) that is trying to set up satellites around the world to help broadcast the second coming of Jesus. Well, the Bible tells us that when Jesus comes back, everyone will see it. Sure, it's impossible for us to imagine how people on the other side of earth can see Jesus if He comes down on this side. That's why this guy pitches in hoping he can help Jesus in His second coming. Isn't that rediculous and funny?

I think his heart is in the right place but he has done too much thinking about it and placed God under the restrictions of man. He is misguided and to me it is kind of sad. This man worships the same God that we worship and yet he is convinced that Jesus will need help having everyone see him when he returns. It would be a sad life to lead if the God your worshipped was bound by human restrictions!

It's funny too that we have the same moods and we're both protestants!
And the number 21yrs corresponds to my current age!

Imagine if I wrote down on my dying wish, is to have all my family to cut me into pieces and feed me to my orchids...lol.....

We're just too similar!
