I loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooovvvvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeddddddddddd
it.

Although everyone says it is so stupid, I really thought it was a "smart" movie. It plays on people's mind... don't tell me you didn't sit there at first when he's asking about the chapstick and think, "Is this funny? Do I think this is funny?" Finally you have to let yourself go and totally enjoy the pointless nature of the movie... I thought it was a well-thought-out script and excellently acted.

Hello.
I don't have much to say.
But I think it would be good to have
some holy santos brought to the high school
to guard the hallway and to bring us good luck.
El Santo Niño de Atocha is a good one.
My Aunt Concha has seen him.
And...we have a great F.F.A. schedule lined up--
and I'd like to see more of that.
If you vote for me, all of your wildest dreams will come true

I watched it twice. At first I thought, what is this movie about??? Then I loved the ending. His dancing was so cool. I loved how he kept dancing after the music was over and then ran off the stage, and then everyone burst into applause. And how he finally had someone to play that ball game with on the playground.

Lucky!

I have to echoe Blackmarch here. I cannot stand that movie. I want to find whatever infidel decided to make that movie and beat him in the head with a spoon until his IQ has dropped to that of Napolean!

Is there something in the water where they live in ND that makes everone STUPID?!!! I almost fell asleep due to the oneliner discussions! And what is up with leaving stuff on a people's portches?!

I am sorry, but I cant stand movies that rely on stupid people for comedy, and with that being not only the essence of ND, but the only thing you will find in it, I have to say its the suckiest movie I have ever seen! *steps down from soap box, drinks a glass of water to recover from yelling, then steals soap box and runs away*

The movie wasn't made in ND, but in Preston, Idaho, just a few miles north of the Utah border. It was produced by a couple of BYU grads.

As far as leaving things on porches (not sure if you really want to know) but at least in the Salt Lake area, a boy isn't just supposed to call and ask a girl to a dance, but ask her in a creative way. They really do leave things to ask in creative ways on doorsteps, or cars, bedrooms, whatever. Oh yeah, she is also supposed to respond in a creative way as well....... I know, I know...... I am not a Utah native!

But, I think that Blackmarch lives closer to Preston than I do (seriously)! :p

ND.... Napolean Dynamite.... I didnt feel like typing out the whole name. Perhaps I should have....

I see... it struck me more as being shy/bashful than creative.

Did anyone else think Nap. and Pedro sounded like D&D nerds? I can see it now....

Nap: Hey Pedro...

Pedro: Yeah?

You wanna come over to my place and play some dungeons and dragons?

Sure.... sounds pretty sweet...

Yeah....

Maybe... we should get someone to be dungeon master for us.

Why?

Because like.... its kinda boring... cuz we the only two people.... and one of us has to be dungeon master.

Yeah...

I'm sorry. I am probably the only person that thought you meant something else!

Sometimes I wonder if there is something in the water here.... :o

I've seen it once. I've heard that it's not funny until after you've seen it, thought about it, and seen it again. Probably the only parts that made me laugh were when he was dancing and when his brother (uncle?) was making nachos and in one shot, there's only a little bit of grated cheese but in the very next shot there's a TON of grated cheese on the nachos.

Maybe ND is like "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." The first time I saw it (on video at a friend's house) I thought is was the dumbest, weirdest thing I'd ever seen. Now? I totally love it and have been meaning for the longest time to go to a midnight showing.

i think of my favorite parts was wehn he was feeding the llama. haha!!!!

"Tina, you fat lard, come get your food!" Something like that :p

I saw the movie only once, but man, oh man, what a pointless movie!

"It only took me like three hours to finish the shading on your upper lip. I think it's the best picture I've ever done."
"Napolean you're just jealous 'cause I talk to babes on the computer all day long."

Then when Kip was with his girlfriend at the park at a picnic table, smiling at each other and everything, and then he takes off his shoe to touch her feet, and there you see his dirty sock!

It's possible to go on and on about this movie.

Skylark, you brought so much depth to the movie by explaining the porches and courting. I had no idea. (-; Honest.

I don' t see it at all as a movie making fun of stupid people. I felt like someone gave me glasses to see every person I knew in high school for what they really were. Nobody was cool. Nobody was in reality superior. It was a movie that made you laugh at yourself and friends that were dear to you.

(Now you're all wondering about me...)

I've got skills too, you know.
