Please keep my pastor in your prayers. He has been battling anxiety and depression for a long time now, and it has become severe enough that he's asked the board for permission to take some time off in the next few months to possibly get counseling, or at the very least to be away from the demands on him from a busy, growing church.
He has been through a lot in the past few years; his wife and all three children have had health problems, including his youngest who has an appointment with a specialist in neurology in May.
There are a lot of other things that he's been through as well. We had a board meeting the other night, and he opened up a bit to the board, and he is very much in need of a touch from God. He's having a lot of emotional trouble right now, and depression is something that many people are still embarrased about, especially in the Christian community. He has said that he feels like he could end up in the psychiatric ward if he doesn't get better.
Sorry this is so long, but please keep this man in your prayers. He's a wonderful, loving man of God who has led our church from about 20-30 people to over 100, and has sacrificed a lot for the Lord and His church.

Thank you all so much for responding. I saw the pastor tonight (one of the other churches in town is holding revival services, and our pastor and his wife are the music evangelists for it), and he still doesn't look good, or act quite like himself. I think it is a good sign, though, that he is able to talk to some of the members about it, and is actually calling it depression, not just being a little down or having a bad day.
It took a lot of courage for him to open up to the church board like he did, and I pray that God continues to strengthen him to talk about it and not stuff everything inside. We're blessed in our town to have a Christian psychologist, so there's a possibility that he may be getting some counseling and treatment from this doctor during his time off.
