Hey, that looks like that, so it must be of the same anestor or related some how...give me a break.
I don't see your objection. The existance of an intermediate form at some time in the past, about where DNA testing suggests that, say, birds and reptiles split off from each other, is very substantial.

Just a question...why is it that there are no long periods of change, just short spirts according to the fossil record, and evolutionary theory predicts long gradual changes?
Could you answer my question? Describe a piece of evidence that you would consider compelling.
To answer yours, the theory is that, in one particular region, a new species gradually splits off from the parent species; when it's had long enough to change substantially, it eventually reaches a point where it is easy for it to spread widely, so we suddenly see whole bunches of these new things. Note also that this is exactly what you'd expect in response to periodic catastrophes, such as meteor strikes; any major change in the environment would change selection criteria everywhere.
