I agree with Bear.

I would also like to add that we can serve God in any profession that we are in.

I have worked mostly in Customer Service. When looking for a job I usually ask God to put me where He would have me be.

May God bless you in your career choice.

I agree with all the comments made....

This does not mean you should not be wise about your choice though. If your chosen career takes too much of your time you may not have time for the Lord.....
If you earn large amounts of money you may become a slave to it..........
I wish you every success in whatever your hand finds to do - just keep balance in mind and keep an even keel,
God Bless....

I think that if you are close to God then God will give you the desires of your heart. Now this does not mean that you will be super rich necessarily because the desires of the Christian are to glorify God not accumulate earthly wealth.

But what i am trying ot say is that if you are close to God and listening to Him then He will put you in hte job HE wants you to be in and it will also be the job that you will love.

AS far as what career I think we need Christians in all careers as long as one can be a Christian and be one. So no exotic dancers. But we need Christian engineers, doctors, lawyers, mechanics, teachers, etc.

I think sometimes we place to much emphasis on how much money a career makes instead of whether or not we actually enjoy it, so if you want to be a golfer go for it. I was a missionary for 3 years and people would say 'that's nice, so when are you going to get a job?" or gave the impression that we were irresponsible and living off other people's money while doing nothing. Now I am not a missionary I am doing a university degree in a subject I really enjoy but will probably never get me a job. People say 'well what's the point in that' and I say "because I find it interesting, and I enjoy it'!!! I would like to be a diplomate though, or something along those lines.

Right now, if he's not talking with his family, or worshipping the lord, he's playin Golf in the most beautiful course imaginable, probably with some of his family or friends, or even bible charaters!

I wonder sometimes, will heaven be nothing but contiuned worshipping of the Lord (not that I have a problem with that) but will we be able to, say golf, or throw get togethers in our manisons? Jesus said he prepares a place for us, mansions (BTW, I can't wait to see mine! With JESUS THERE!!!)

Yeah, the reason I want to do golf, is not because it's a well paying job, but because theres nothing I'd really rather do. The money is just a +. But if I couldn't get alot of $$, I'd still do it.

I agree with all of you, Lord has to always come first! M.C. Hammer once said, that his downfall was puting his career in freont of the Lord, not the Lord in fron of his career.

Thanks for your posts! I'm stayin home today, because the only time I can call the golf course owner is at 9:30. (I'm a freshm,an in highschool) so I'm going to call the golf course and see if they will hire me (they are hiring) and if they need me to I'll get out there. After that it's back to the trenches of school.

Love ya'll.

This passage might help you Nick,

"Everything is permissible," but not everything is helpful. "Everything is permissible," but not everything builds up. No one should seek his own good, but the good of the other person. Eat everything that is sold in the meat market, asking no questions for conscience' sake, for the earth is the Lord's, and all that is in it. If one of the unbelievers invites you over and you want to go, eat everything that is set before you, without raising questions of conscience. But if someone says to you, "This is food offered to an idol," do not eat it, out of consideration for the one who told you, and for conscience' sake. I do not mean your own conscience, but the other person's. For why is my freedom judged by another person's conscience? If I partake with thanks, why am I slandered because of something for which I give thanks? Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for God's glory. Give no offense to the Jews or the Greeks or the church of God, just as I also try to please all people in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.

1 Corinthians 10:23-33
