i plan to read LOTR at some point (not got round to it yet lol) beacuse i loved the hobbit, i love the series of unfortunate events and there are so many authors i like but nobody has mentioned my fave author in this thread Charles Dickens
I've been reading Max Lucado a lot! he rocks and his writing is so.... ture for your daily life, understanding and you often find yourself in his lines...
For human authors, I don't have a lot of favorites since I typically pick my books on subject matter and do not follow a particular author.
However, I have just a few that I would call my favories.
Alexandre Dumas - I've read all his Musketeer books, the Count of Monte Cristo and Page of the Duke of Savoy.
Sir Walter Scott - I have only read Ivanhoe but I positively loved that book.
Jane Austin - Only read Sense and Sensibility but I really loved this book as well.
As to Christian authors, I would list J.C. Ryle as my favorite. To those who want a book that deals Christian doctrines such as justification, sanctification, and holiness, I would suggest find a copy of his book called Holiness.
