I have a couple prayer requests.

The first is for my grandmother. She is suffering badly from Alzheimer's Disease, and she fell yesterday and hurt her back. The back injury is pretty bad and the doctors can't do too much because she has really bad osteoperosis. She's in the hospital right now on pain medication and whatever they use to rehydrate people...because she was also dehydrated. I just got off the phone with my mom who has asked for prayers for her (my grandmother's) peace, comfort, and ultimate healing.

The second is for a woman I took advanced lay speaking classes with, Catherine Snook. She found out that she might have cancer throughout her entire body.

Thank you.

good eving amidala...
God delights in answering the prayers of you and i... and it is my utmost pleasure in Christ to intercede on your behalf, and on the behalf of your family and friends...
welcome to the board.
Jesus earthly ministry reflected the perfect will of God (in Love!) that we walk free of sickness and disease through his healing touch... in faith!
I will take both of your requests to my Lord in Jesus name...

An update on my grandmother. My mom and her aunt (who has power of attorney) are working together to get her into a nursing home. On Friday they will also be starting to prepare for her funeral. I know it sounds strange, but my mom says that it winds up being cheaper starting to plan ahead then doing it all after she passes.

I guess prayers of thanksgiving that my mom and her aunt are working together for this. My mom isn't on good speaking terms with any of that side of the family because they all think she was bad or something because she wanted grandma in a nursing home after my grandfather died. So it really is a good thing that they are doing this together.

And prayers for my sister who is taking all this very hard. When I graduated from college my grandparents were there and my grandmother told my sister that she wouldn't be around when she graduated from college. She graduates in May, and it's possible that grandma was right...so she (my sister) is having a rough time.

Thanks. I'll keep you all updated.

Just another quick update...and a bit of a Praise God!

There is a bed for my grandmother at one of the nursing homes my mom and aunt wanted to get her into. It is the same nursing home her mother (my great-grandmother) was in for many years and it's a good place. :)

Father in Heaven, we praise You, we Magnify You Holy name.
You are Yahweh Raphe, God the Healer. You are our strength and our refuge. And we praise You for it.
Father, I lift up AngelAmidala's grandmother. She hurt her back.
Bring her relief, God. Heal the soreness and pain. Heal every broken bone and tendon, Father God. The doctors say they cannot do much for her grandmother, but you will make the wise man low. Be her peace and comfort, Father God. Hallielujah. And bring peace to her family in this time of trial. You are their fortress, and their rock in time of trouble, Father. I praise Your Victorious name. Hallielujah!

And Father our God, I am asking you to do your will in Catherine Snook, Yahweh Raphe. I praise Your name. Our Father, your child has cancer throughout her body. I come to You
with a broken spirit, God. I come to You with a contrite heart, Abba Father. Because there is no one like you. Only you can lift her burden. Only You can bring an end to such a disease. And strengthen her for this war against the spirit of illness, Father. For it is your will that we would triumph over darkness and this cancer is the darkness of all illness. Oh, Father, use your Holy Spirit to tend to her every need, her every pain, her every burden.
If it is your will, our Father, heal her and bring all the glory to your name. We will gorify Your name to all we know, to all we see, to all we meet. Hallielujah! Hallielujah! Hallielujah!
You are Holy. Thank You Father God, in Jesus name.
Amen Amen Amen!

I am very sorry for what you and your family are going through. Seeing a loved one go through all that is devistating. I wish there was something I could do for you. Please know that you are on my mind, and if I can lend an ear, you know where to find me.

Take care, Angel, and please keep us posted.

Sincerely,

DA

Grandma has been successfully moved to the nursing home. Though she desperately hates being there and wants to go home.

There are a couple good things that have come out of this. There are like 5 people at the nursing home who remember my great-grandmother, thus remembering my grandmother...and my great-grandma died about 13 years ago. Also, one of our cousins was losing a place to live...and she's going to be staying at my grandmother's house to take care of it...so she has a place to live!

Hi, Angel!

Sorry to hear your grandmother doesn't like the nursing home. Hopefully she'll adjust soon.

Also, it's good to hear that she is with people who know her and that your cousin will be able to stay and care for her house.

Thanks for keeping us posted. I've been thinking of you and meant to email, but I was out of town until last night.

Take care...

DA

Hey...just wanted to give you all an update on my grandmother...

She's in the hospital now...she has a UTI and is still rather dehydrated. My mom went to see her on Saturday and said she didn't look good at all. So your continued prayers are welcomed very much.

Thanks!
