I am a George Bush fan, but i can't understand him demanding Israel to pull back forces in the middle east. They have put up with suicide bombers for to long. When we are attacked we retalliate, they have the same right to defend theirselves. Israel is a friend to us, we should should stand behind them, and not hold them back. God Bless the USA, and Israel.

You need to be patient. Bush has a lot of advisors, and a lot of information that is not available to the public. There is a plan and an ultimate goal behind his actions, even if they are not apparent to us at the moment.

First of all Bush must protect the interests of the US, and to do so we must attempt to broker peace in the middle east.

I also believe there is a reason for this. If Israel pulls back, and the suicide bombings continue (and they will), then at least the world sees that Israel was the one who made the attempt at peace. (Not to mention that we asked them to.:)) I think that will certainly help world opinion, at least, for anything they do after that. If Arafat is able to stop the suicide bombings (which he won't) then there is peace anyway. That's just what I think is going on anyway.

It's a delicate siguation, and for Israels sake Bush is doing what he can to protect them and (us.
This has sparked so much hatred for Americans; watch CNN, you will see <thousands> of demonstrators chanting, burning flags and making threats to highjack planes. There is currently a bounty for $$$$ for capturing and killing an American over there. It is a scary siguation.

If this siguation is not controlled in Israel the suicide bombings will begin to happen elsewhere; Europe and the USA.

Israel is becoming the burden spoken of in the bible.
Trust me; if that country (Israel) was not sitting in the midst of all of these terrorists nations, we would have blown them off the map by now.

If Israel was not over there, we would have no trouble
with them at all. The problem with Israel is, they have
displaced millions of Palestinians, and they are angry.
They dislike us because we support Israel without any
thought, and we would have "blown them off of the
map" if Israel was not there. They are grateful for
that at least.

Matthew 5:9  Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Matthew 5:38  ¶Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
39  But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

Matthew 5:43  ¶Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
44  But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45  That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
46  For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
47  And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
48  Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

I do not see in any way how the US, Israel, or Palestine are being peacemakers. Vengence is not ours but the Lords alone.

While I am for Israel pulling out of the towns they are currently occupying I was amused by Bush's demand that they withdraw. Who does he think he is? Israel is a sovereign nation able to do what they want, they are not under Bush's presidency.

i personally don't beleve there will be peace in israel until christ comes back. at that time the antichrist will make a covenant with israel. but thats another discussion. also, remember who gave the land back to the jews-the british-and who it was that displaced them in the first place-everyone.

Kiwi,

The US is Israel's greatest alli. Of course they would listen to us. However, they have an agenda that they will adhere to because they are a sovereign nation. But they are in a hard spot since they do not want to cut ties with one of their few allies.

Bush has every right in the world to work toward peace.

That is the sad responsibility of being the leader of the world's most powerful nation. Why wouldn't you want Bush to get involved if you agree with what he is asking?

On previous threads you have shown disapproval in American involvement in foreign afairs.

Would you rather the US just stay within it's own borders, worry only about it's self and allow the middle east countries to anihilate each other?

Maybe you disagree with our reason's for being there, since they are economic, but what evidence do you have that we are making a negative impact or working toward more violence?

I don't think you would have such a problem with President Bush's involvement if it was YOUR country he was trying to help...

If we support the Palestinians and they form a state of their own, would that legitimize all
of their actions?

Nobody is condoning violence. However, it seems impossible for anyone to discuss this without taking a side, so this question has been beat to death already.

Why should Israel's sins be OK just because they formed a State in 1948?

It was 1947. What sins are you refering to? Sin is never ok. War is horrible, but both sides have been at it for a long time. Pointing fingers is nearly impossible. What we do know is the facts.

One fact is that Palestine has been breeding hate and training terrorists (suicide bombers) for decades.

Another fact is these two groups have been at odds for a very long time, it would be a miracle if this hadn't turned into a war.

Sharon was already referred to as "The butcher of Lebannon", is he trying to broaden his horizons?

I do not think that any leader would want to be known worldwide as a "Butcher". This is clearly a biased statement. What are you trying to accomplish?

Solo,

I agree whole heartedly, but pulling Israel out of Palestine would also have it's benefits. If Israel makes the first step toward peace and Palestine attacks or bombs them again, then they really have something to fight about since they made the first step toward peace.

Violence and war should always be avoided, but even the strongest dam will break under enough pressure.

At this point war is inevitable. Peace is still way off on the horizon. Si vis pacem, para bellum.

God Bless
