yes, many christians are born again christians after many years of going to church and all. It's good in that we do get ourselves right with God in time.
right to the point Andrew, oh, if we also held in mind that God's terrible wrath'd be upon us if we sinned deliberately, that may be another good measure in resisting sins.

I've always wondered, as a new Christian myself, if Satan torments us with his spirtitual warfare to make us ineffective Christians to where we can't help anyone else, or to try to pull us away from Jesus and attempt to lure us back into going to Hell.

Yes satan torments or at least tries to, to make us ineffective Christians, but he can't cause us to lose our salvation. Satan is not able to do anything to us without God's ok. Job is a great example of spiritual warfare.

what better way to make a Christian ineffective than to cause them to doubt their salvation?

You can always help others, but Jesus warned a bad tree can not produce good fruit. Similarly, you can't take the mote out of the eye of another, if you have not first taken the beam out of your own. Jesus said if we fail to remain in his love and teachings, we'd be incapable of doing anything

Another example of spiritual warfare is fear. I have experienced this a great deal in the past.
I used to be overcome by fear that if I prayed, something really bad was going to happen to me.
