I do not believe the osas either...or I should say, at least not the way it is taught by many churches. You can't just declare that you believe that Jesus is the son of God and then ... like magic you are saved for all eternity.

EVEN SATAN BELIEVES THAT JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD !
-----------------------------------------------------------
You must repent of your sins...
Believe in the words of Jesus the Son of God.
Allow the Spirit into your soul to teach and guide you.
Walk in love.

If you have not done all this... Then you were never saved.
Call upon Jesus today.

-----------------------------------------------------------

But what if you were truly saved, and were tested and failed. Life and its temptations lead you to sin.

Then you must confess all your sins to God and ask for forgiveness.
Remember that God loves you.
What man can not do..God can do.
All things are possible with God.
He will be happy to welcome you back home.

Luke 15:3 Then Jesus told them this parable: 4 "Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? 5 And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders 6and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, `Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.' 7 I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
8"Or suppose a woman has ten silver coinsA and loses one. Does she not light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? 9 And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, `Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.' 10 In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."

2 Peter 2:20&21

If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and overcome, they are worse off at the end thatn they were at the beginning. It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them.

Good passage Messenger!
Here you go...

1 Peter 4:1 Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because he who has suffered in his body is done with sin. 2 As a result, he does not live the rest of his earthly life for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God. 3 For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do--living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry. 4 They think it strange that you do not plunge with them into the same flood of dissipation, and they heap abuse on you. 5 But they will have to give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead. 6 For this is the reason the gospel was preached even to those who are now dead, so that they might be judged according to men in regard to the body, but live according to God in regard to the spirit.
7 The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. 8 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.

:) LOVE

1John 2:15

Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world--the craving of sinful men, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does- come not from the Father but of the world. The world and its desires pass away but the man who does the will of God lives forever.

We should live our lives for God, and doing that is a sign that one is saved, but it is not the WAY we get saved.

There is only ONE WAY to get saved, and that is through faith in Christ alone.

If you can admit that you have screwed up with God by sinning, if you can admit that you can't undo or make good on what bad you have done, if you are willing to be humble enough to accept Christ's death as payment for your sins, and determine to let him be master over your life, THEN you are a Christian, a follower of the teachings of Christ.

And Christ will leave the 99 to go look for the one who strays. And Christ will search for the lost believer like a woman who loses a rare and valuable coin. And Christ will accept any prodigal believer back into his arms.

All throughout the Bible, it is clear that humans, even after they are saved, stray and are accepted back with repentence.

We are saved, we are being saved, we will be saved. It is a process, but it starts with one event: faith.

Salvation brings about change in our lives and comes by faith:
JN 14 . 11 Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves. 12 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing.

Our Salvation brings others to Christ: (evidence)

AC 11:22 News of this reached the ears of the church at Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch. 23 When he arrived and saw the evidence of the grace of God, he was glad and encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord with all their hearts. 24 He was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and a great number of people were brought to the Lord.

God did not save me for my purposes, but for His. Salvation has evidence, it's the actual changed life that brings others to Christ, that is this evidence. Why would God give me back to the thief? That would be a contradiction and a broken promise.

Have faith

And why would someone who once tasted the true sweetness of a relationship with God want to go back to the devil?

When you are in a good relationship with someone you truly love, you do the hard work of preserving that relationship.

If you are truly in Christ, you might sin, but you tend to want to get rid of that sin as soon as you can, so that your relationship with God is strong and connected.

I strongly believe that everyone who falls away forever, never really had that relationship with Christ. They walk away on their own power, they are not thrown away by God.

1John 2:20

But you have the annoiting from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth. I do not write to you because you do not know the truth but because you do know it and no lies ever come from the truth. Who is a liar? It is the man that denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a man is the antichrist- he denies the Father and the Son. No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also. See that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does you will remain in the Son and in the Father. And this is what he promised--eternal life. I am writing these things to you about those who are trying to lead you astray. As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you and you do not need anyone to teach you.

Agree Lambslove. I'm not saying if this dream was a "message" or just his thoughts or what...but if it lead him back to Christ...I'd just say Great! I'm still not sure why you said his dream went against the Bible but oh well. Everyday away from Christ is a wasted day.

ABSOLUTELY!

You BEGIN with faith through grace, and then your salvation is a lifelong process. We can stumble, we can fall....but you must WANT and actively SEEK to be picked up again.

Peace be with you,

I don't believe that one can lose their savation. I've read too much to believe that it's true.

Romans 8:35-39
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: "For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered." No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

John 10:27-30
My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. I and the Father are one."

I hear that we can "jump off His hand" I don't believe that. If the angels who are higher then humans cannot seperate us from His love, how can we, puny mortals, seperate ourselves?

Hebrews 9:15
For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance --now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.

Ephesians 1:13-14
And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession--to the praise of his glory.

1 Peter 1:3-5
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade --kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

Numbers 23:19
God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?

And don't ever let anyone tell you that if you "sold your soul to Satan", you're gone forever. That's not the truth. If some one did that, then turned to Christ and accepted Him as Lord and Savior, then you're His now. Remember who's more powerful. Jesus stormed the gates of hell and ripped the keys away from satan. Satan is no where near as powerful as Jesus. That's the problem today. People think Satan is the opposite of God, but he's not. If he was, that would mean that he was as powerful as God, and no one and nothing is as powerful as God.

For those who believe you can lose your salvation, I respect that and I'm not trying to start anything. I'm just trying to show why I believe you can't.

God Bless!

Well, as long as you're able to bring yourself back to repentance... But I just don't know how people deal with Hebrews 10:26-29 or especially 2 Peter 2:20. Well I came to this thread late maybe I better go back and look what people said.

But I'd be careful taking salvation totally for granted. There is certainly no good to come of thinking that now you're saved you can do whatever you want and not worry about it anymore.
