That is quite different, King David was doing God's will for God's people. Bush is fulfilling his own will.
That doesn't make it God's will. If he was a praying man then why does he allow abortionist kill 4000+ unborn a day in the USA? Amoung many other things

Bush is human, and a politician, he is not divine.

Yes, and I believe it was the Supreme Court that legalized abortion. I know that our president is not pro-abortion, but I don't know that he can override a decision of the Supreme Court. (I may be wrong on that, though.) I think people are accountable and responsible for their own sins. He is just a man, okay? Don't make him a scapegoat for everything that goes wrong everywhere. Pray for him. Our leaders need our prayer to make godly decisions. If I had his job, I would welcome any and all prayer that I would perform it to the best of my ability. I'm sure he would welcome that, too. We are living in hard times, and I have a feeling that if every Christian in our country prayed for our Christian president to do God's will, mighty things will happen. However, I also believe God's will will be done, with or without us.

The president a christian, yea right and I'm the pope!
Honesty doesn't get one elected to the presidency.
He, like many others strattled the fence on abortion why? to get the votes! Remember his father was the first one to use the term New world order, Same mold! All canidates lie, it's apart of the job requirement. If he wanted to he could stop a lot of things that are wrong with this country, but will he, NO, he is on another agenda, his own and those who actually run these ungodly nation. Yea yea we have "in God we trust" but we don't do it. Gays have more rights then we as christians do! It's taught in schools that the gay life style is an alternative life style and we must accept them as they are, now they can adopt kids and even marry in some states. Real godly! They even appoint gays in their administration, Why ? VOTES,
that is what the bottom line is! We aren't even allowed to meantion God in schoo; but Islam, ok! Wicca, OK! We have wiccas teaching religious studies in our prisons, oh that's gonna help them. Real godly nation. i will admit that we have the freedoms that most countries don't but for how long?

hmmmmmmm, I see now, it was your husband, the reliable source, that was talking about "peace and security."
I can see also, from the bottom of your posts, Numbers 6:26, where he has influenced you to promote "peace."
All you have to do is add "and security."

Yes, you do need to watch your husband.

love,
charlesj

I get my husband to say "peace and security" at least once a day just in case no one else is saying it!! ;)

Congratulations on your marriage of 39 years--I admire that!

Your wife has great endurance. :p

I've only been watching my husband for 20 years!

President Bush said, "peace and security" again in a speech today at Virginia Military Institute.

1 Thessalonians 5:3
When people say, "There is peace and security," then sudden destruction will come upon them as travail comes upon a woman with child, and there will be no escape. (RSV)

1 Thessalonians 5:3
When men are saying "Peace and security" catastrophe will sweep down upon them as suddenly and inescapably as birth-pangs to a pregnant woman. (Phillips)

This is a copy of a post I made several months ago--copying it here just to make you aware of the importance of the words "peace and security".

Has anyone ever noticed that the stated purpose of the United Nations is to achieve "peace and security".

Has anyone every noticed that the Charter of the United Nations says "peace and security" 32 times.

Has anyone every noticed that "peace and security" has become buzz words used in a great number of speeches made by world leaders.

Has anyone ever noticed that if you do a Google search for "peace and security" you get 1,750,00 hits. (only about 255,000 when peace and security is in quotes--sorry, I'm still learning about searches)

Back in the early 1990's my interest in prophesy was very high. I heard someone on TV say "peace and security". I thought it sounded alot like the term "peace and safety" used in my bible. I prayed about it and God led me to another version of the bible that said "peace and security". Everytime I would hear this term on TV, I would get excited thinking that it meant the end was near.

In 1992 I listened to the UN Conference on Environment and Development (the "Earth Summit") held in Rio de Janeiro. Over 100 world leaders attended the conference. As the leaders gave their speeches almost everyone of them had the term "peace and security" included in their speech. I was floored. I expected sudden distruction at any moment.

My husband tempered my excitement by saying that he thought it would be when it was said that "peace and security" had been achieved. I think he is right.

Another "Earth Summitt" is scheduled for this August/September in South Africa. About 130 world leaders are expected to attend.

I don't know how long before they will be saying that "peace and security" has been achieved. I just think we should be aware of the significance of the term.

Thanks for listening.

Love you in the Lord

Terri
