Sonworshipper the NIrV bible words 2 Timothy 4:5 like this : But I want you to keep your head no matter what happens. Don't give up when times are hard. Work to spread the good news. Do everything God has given you to do.

So for me it is basically saying that I need to be steadfast in my tasks given to me by the Lord and keep level headed even when I am tested and tried. I feel it is also telling me to spead God's word to people and to do all of what God has given me as opposed to some of it.

I read the NIrV for understanding because sometimes I find that I don't fully understand what the KJV bible is saying so I refer to the NIrV for plain language so that I can understand.

The word translated here from the Greek to proof is 'plerophoreo ' the definition in Strong's is,

to carry out fully (in evidence),i.e.completely assure (or convince), entirely accomplish:--most surely believe, fully know (persuade)make full proof of.

[SHADOW=silver]Do you think that this "evidence" will be used for or against us at Jesus judgement of the believers as to the rewards? [/SHADOW]

Sonworshiper,
Jamison,Fawcett, and Brown has this definition of
make full proof of--fulfil in all its requirements, leaving nothing undone. So I think that if we fulfill our ministry Jesus will consider the evidence and give us our reward in heaven and if we have not fulfiled our ministry he will consider the evidence for that and our reward will be hell. Hope this helps!

I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingly power: proclaim the word; be persistent whether it is convenient or inconvenient; convince, reprimand, encourage through all patience and teaching.

For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine but, following their own desires and insatiable curiosity, will accumulate teachers and will stop listening to the truth and will be diverted to myths.

But you, be self-possessed in all circumstances; put up with hardship; perform the work of an evangelist; fulfill your ministry.
I think Paul is telling Timothy "don't quit", even though people won't listen to the truth.
