Alrighty, since you probably do not have a measuring tool for it, listed below is an easy way to make a guess:

You will need a ruler then get a partner to hold the ruler. Extend your arm straight in front of you, palm up. Grab the skin on the back of your upper arm (the side facing own) between your thumb and your fingers, gently pulling it away from your arm, trying not to pinch too tightly. Then measure the thickness of the skin held between your fingers and thumb (not the distance its being pulled out). most people will average these results:

Ages 20 to 40: 1/2in. Good 10-15% LBM ; 3/4in. Average 15-20 LBM

Ages 41 to 60+: 5/8in. Good 10-15% LBM ; 7/8in. Average 15-20 LBM

That is just a rough estimated average- for the precise percentage you will need to tool

See, thank God that you all can do physical activity and fitness. I have to tell you that I have a severe neck problem and have Migraines very frequently. Therefore, I do not even do physical activity most of the time and I want for you all to realize how fortunate you are :)

I, as well as my Mom, got struck with a virus two years ago and I became very sick; well, some of that sickness never left me! :( I have more of a "brain-stem" problem and it is constant; from the moment I wake up, to the moment I lay down I have pain in my neck and head!!! But you know what? Do I blame it on God? Do I ask, "Why has God done this too me???!!!" Nope, I will never! Why? Because I know that it is not of God, it is of this world; I wonder sometimes if technology, or what else, causes diseases. I mean nuclear power plants can cause cancer; cell phones cause tumors! What has the world come to? I won't blame God; I blame the world for their ignorance!

Well, I think it is only fair that I let you know of that! I just wanted to let you know remember those that suffer in sickness and diseases, and if you have the resources, the money!, help them! :)

See You Around and Keep Up The Physical Activities!

Well, I know this is late but I love to work out. I go everyday after work and lift weights and run for about three miles or so. I also play indoor soccer. I'm not like really big into fitness but I like to work out. Makes me feel better about myself. I hate running but I do it because I know it's good for me!

If you aren't already familiar with it, there's a website called www.hardgainer.com (actually, two, you want the one from Cyprus put up by Stuart McRobert)...

all the info on weightlifting you'd ever want...

if you ask, they will send you a free sample magazine, simply the best magazine on this toic that exists

I agree. Stuart McRobert and Hardgainer are the way to go for real weight training.

The things I dislike I try to do first thing or when I get a chance- it is better this way that you wont be dreading to do them and you can enjoy the rest of you day or physical activity

Well I tried my hand at rollerblading...and aside from the fact that I am horrible at it, it was always nice to see a bunch of 6 and 7 year olds beating me and laughing!!!ugh!!!but I was going so fast, I couldn't stop at one point I just ate it...I hit my face on the pavement my mouth was full of blood and my chin was all cut open...my knees were bleeding all over the place, but at least I survived! I think I'll try it again, just take it a bit slower...I'm like that I just jump right in...the first time I ever skied, I never even took a lesson...I went straight up to the black diamond mountain...yikes...I had never been so scared in all my life! I thought I was going to die, I screamed the whole way down, I had no idea how to stop and I lost my poles on the way down...when I was heading towards people going God Knows what speed, I just threw myself into the snow...ouch...tumbled forever and broke my leg...Thank God I lived through that one! I have since learned to ski sensibly...so rollerblading, sure I'll give it another shot...Amie

I just re-started my fitness training yesterday! I feel that the path God is leading me on requires fitness. Also, I see lots of opportunities to use fitness to serve God already.
Well, this week is the last of my holidays. In free weeks such as this I do apprx:
3 runs per week,
1 cycling/mountain biking,
1 strength dumbells,
1 endurance dumbells,
2 calisthenics (pushup/situp/pull/leg raise)
1 circuit training some times
Stretch loads and intend to do speed marches with a rucksack over hills when I am older and get chances.

However, I have a problem and I could do with your advice. At school I have little free time. How will I maintain a good, varied schedule? I am hoping to do swimming in school, but my parents really want me to do 1500m...I will go where God wants me.

Woohooo, i bought a Parabody on Thursday. I've been working out at home with free weights for almost 20 years..GASP..i must be getting old !! I have to be careful, i wore out my shoulder about 6 six years ago and had to have surgery. I also started Tae-Kwon-Do about 3 months ago, that's a good workout and i'm actually becoming flexible again for the first time since probably my childhood. I also love to ride my bike during spring, summer and fall. I live in MN so winter riding is done indoors, which just isn't the same.

Good thread..
