I recently sent in my FAFSA, which (for those of you that don't know) stands for Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Most college students (unless they have a WHOLE lot of money :D) fill one of these out, and get grants, loans, and work study through this program. I received something back from these people yesterday, telling me that I wasn't eligible for a certain type of grant. This doesn't mean I'm not getting any financial aid at all, but it IS rather bad news. My family won't be contributing ANYTHING towards my education, so I need all the outside help I can get. Now I'm worried I won't be able to afford any schooling past the year, even if I DO get accepted into one of the universities I applied to tranfer to.
Could you pray that I find a way to pay for school (preferrably without being in major debt), if it's God's will that I go to school? If it isn't, and He has another plan for me, please pray that I recieve some clarity as to what that it. Thanks!

hi Emily! So GOOD to see you here and I've missed posting. Just so very much going on and I wanted to thank you for posting on my thread. Your prayers and thoughts mean so much to me

I too have just appied for a pell grant and upon my renewal was told I didn't qualify, BUT there is special circumstances they list that you can go and pick up a form at the financial aid office, complete and meet with someone to discuss it further. Such as loss of job, um, I would have to look at the form but you never know. You might fall under one of those categories, I did. And he came right out and pretty much said I would get the grant and not only would it pay my tuition AND books, I'd have some left over! He even waived the fee you pay to take the TASP. Well actually, I'm going to take the accuplacer but everyone has said it's pretty much the same thing anyway. SOoooooo I wish you SO much luck on this and you wish me luck too on my test ok?

Love and prayers always!

Think about going to a community college first. They are cheaper, and most are just as worthy as any large university. If you do, you can get a part-time job to save money, and have your parents not claim you as a dependent on their taxes. Then, when you are ready to go to a larger school, you can re-apply for financial aid and they will use YOUR part-time income as the determining factor and you will qualify for a lot more aid. Just a thought.

Of course pray, God will provide if you trust Him. I'll say one for you.

Hi fieldmouse ,
I am praying for your college financial situation to all work out wonderfully for you...have you been to the financial aid office, they can give you a list of grants that you may be entitled to receive...grants are the way to go because you don't have to pay those back...I know also there are sites through the internet that list hundreds of financial grants, and you can apply through the internet, I'll get those sites for you if you would like! Best of luck to you college girl! with love, prayers, and blessings...
