Islam means to submit totally to the Will of the one true GOD.What did Jesus preach, the Trinity? NO.
Mr 12:29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
Mt 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name

Joh 8:54 Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God:
Joh 20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

Re 3:12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God,

And there are more too, Abraham and the other prophets were montheists they did not Worship anythingthing else but one GOD.They submitted to the Will of the one GOD Islam.Although the name was not Islam in those days but the concept was clear. so those who submitted to the one GOD were Muslims of their time.

Thus a Muslim strives to surrender to God's commands every step of the way. There is no distinction made between daily life and religion or politics."

Now, we get to the heart of the matter. Jesus did distinguish between politics, religion, and daily life; so He can not be a Muslim. Jesus did not communicate a religion; He communicated God's laws. There is a huge difference. He was against religion, altogether. He was only interested in seeing that God's laws were fully understood in spiritual terms. The spiritual implications of Christ's message is far different than that of Mohammad's, therefore Islam's. That also creates a problem with any definition. Jesus' life was not about worldly things. It was about eternal things. He did not try to correct a political system, because if God's laws were actually carried out perfectly by man as God commands, there would not be a need for a government - at least on the scale that we see.

What is religion?

What is Qur'aan?

Don't you think Muslims claim Qur'aan is a law of Allah (GOD)?

3:72
Some of the People of the Book say to one another: "Believe in what is revealed to the believers (Muslims) in the morning and deny it in the evening; so that they (the Muslims) may follow suit and abandon their faith.

3:73
Do not follow anyone except the one who follows your own religion." O Muhammad, tell them: "The only true guidance is the guidance of Allah." These people of the Book do not believe that revelation could be sent to anyone besides themselves, like that which has been sent to you; or that they will ever argue with you in the presence of your Rabb. Tell them: "For sure, grace is in the hands of Allah: He bestows it on whom He pleases; Allah has boundless knowledge."

3:74
He chooses for His mercy whom He pleases, Allah is the Owner of mighty grace.

So in the end BOK, if he doesn't feel like it, he wont show mercy on you?
Sahih Al Bukhari Volume 9 Hadith 512 - Narrated Al Mughira

Sa'd bin 'Ubada said, "If I saw a man with my wife, I would strike him (behead him) with the blade of my sword." This news reached Allah's Apostle who then said, "You people are astonished at Sa'd's Ghira. By Allah, I have more Ghira than he, and Allah has more Ghira than I, and because of Allah's Ghira, He has made unlawful shameful deeds and sins (illegal sexual intercourse etc.) done in open and in secret. And there is none who likes that the people should repent to Him and beg His pardon than Allah, and for this reason He sent the warners and the givers of good news. And there is none who likes to be praised more than Allah does, and for this reason, Allah promised to grant Paradise (to the doers of good)." 'Abdul Malik said, "No person has more Ghira than Allah."

Sahih Al Bukhari Volume 9 Hadith 556 - Narrated Anas

Allah's Apostle said, "Whenever anyone of you invoke Allah for something, he should be firm in his asking, and he should not say: 'If You wish, give me...' for none can compel Allah to do something against His Will."

Sahih Al Bukhari Volume 9 Hadith 569 - Narrated Abu Huraira

The Prophet said, "None of you should say: 'O Allah! Forgive me if You wish,' or 'Bestow Your Mercy on me if You wish,' or 'Provide me with means of subsistence if You wish,' but he should be firm in his request, for Allah does what He will and nobody can force Him (to do anything)."

Sahih Al Bukhari Volume 8 Hadith 485- Narrated Abu Huraira

The Prophet; said, "A slave (of Allah) may utter a word which pleases Allah without giving it much importance, and because of that Allah will raise him to degrees (of reward): a slave (of Allah) may utter a word (carelessly) which displeases Allah without thinking of its gravity and because of that he will be thrown into the Hell-Fire."

We have been taught correctly that SALVATION CANNOT BE EARNED! We are not interested in hearing what your koran say's about it!
Who do you mean by "we?" The inner circle of Christians that like to scoff and joke when someone of a non-Christian faith proposes something you think isn't "worthy" of being proposed?

This thread starts with one of most laughable questions I have ever seen?

Stay tuned tomorrow, when I ask "Was Buddha influenced by the Process Church of the Final Judgement?"
Like bullies on a school playground.

"Haha, I can't believe he said that about Jesus!" :sigh:

And you must mean something like that, because I'm interested in hearing what the Qur'aan has to say.

"Koran" is disrespectful, by the way.

And if you're going to try and poke fun at a thread, at least bother spelling it right...

If you weren't so close-minded, you'd realize that calling Jesus and Bodhisattva is a great compliment to him. Maybe if you understood him better, you would agree.

Same sentiments to him being a Muslim.

But what good does it do? I'm going to Hell anyway, right? ;)

Someone said earlier that Allah and God were the same .How do you figure this ?
Because Allah means God in Arabic.

It's like saying that Automobile and Car mean the same thing.

Were the Holy Bible in Arabic, it would be filled with the word "Allah."

So, praise be to Allah, who is Oft-Returning, Most Merciful.

Such Christians are not doing the right thing. We are to love everyone as ourselves. Scoffing and joking are not correct responses.

God is THE Creator of everything, so naturally HE ordained the same message to all HIS creations.
The religion of Islam is not named after a person as in the case of Christianity which was named after Jesus Christ, nor was it named after a tribe like Judaism after the tribe of Judah . Islam is the true religion of "Allah" and as such, its name represents the central principle of Allah's "God's" religion; the total submission to the will of Allah "God". The Arabic word "Islam" means the submission or surrender of one's will to the only true god worthy of worship"Allah" and anyone who does so is termed a "Muslim".
The word also implies"peace" which is the natural consequence of total submission to the will of Allah. Hence, it was not a new religion brought by Prophet Muhammad (peace beupon him) in Arabia in the seventh century, but only the true religion of Allah re-expressed in its final form.

Adam was a Muslim, all the prophets who came after him and their followers were Muslims meaning that Moses & his followers, David & his followers were Muslims, and so was Jesus & his followers up to the advent of the Last Prophet Muhammad PBUH.

Nowhere in the Bible do we find that God called the religion of the people who follwed Moses Judaism , nor do we find that HE called the religion of the people who follwed Jesus Christians

Jesus was Muslim . he said in Jhn 20:17 Jesus said to her, Do not put your hand on me, for I have not gone up to the Father: but go to my brothers and say to them, I go up to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.

which corresponds to what the Holy Quran says in 19:36. ['Iesa (Jesus) said]: "And verily Allâh is my Lord and your Lord. So worship Him (Alone). That is the Straight Path. (Allâh's Religion of Islâmic Monotheism which He did ordain for all of His Prophets)."
I thought the word Islam was supposed to mean peace. I read a thread on here where we were discussing that word. And caller said it meant peace but Galilee said he knew Arabic and it just meant submission. Now it just means submission but implies peace. The Jews were named after the tribe of Judea but Christians weren't named after Jesus Christ. Christ isn't His name it means the anointed one and early Christians were called followers of the way.. Acts 19:23 And the same time there arose no small stir about that way.
Jesus was the Christ, Christ is not a name. It wasn't until the second or third reentry that followers of Jesus Christ were called Christians..

What religion was the prophets:

Noah
Moses
Abrahim
(pbut)
???

Wouldn't we all agree that they didn't call themselves "Jews" or "Christians" as these terms did not exist.
Wouldn't we all agree that these prophets submitted themselves completely to the service and worship of the One Creator, the One God.

If you agree to these statements, then in the language of arabic, the term "muslim" one who submits themselves to the worship of One God, applies not only to these prophets but to all who submits likewise, this includes Jesus(pbuh).

Islam doesn't mean peace, it means submission to God, mu-islm, means a person who submits to God. One achieves peace through this act of submission.
