I honestly don't think most Democrats would have a problem with Giuliani as president. He's a moderate republican. The right might have a problem with him though because he is pro choice and pro gun control.
If Giuliani were to be the candidtae in 2008, pro-lifers might have to start a new party, thus breaking the Republicans. Many pro-lifers refuse to vote for a pro-choice candidate.

Actually a REAL third party would be good for the country. Not an individual like Perot or Nader, but an actual party with candidates for the House and Senate was well as the presidency.

Wait, didn't McCain father an illigitimate black child? And didn't he cooperate with his captors when he was a POW? Or was it that his time as a POW made him mentally unstable? I'm sure I heard those things somewhere.

Guiliani will fall right in line if it means a GOP shot at the Presidency.

I doubt it seriously. It is widely known that he is pro choice and pro gun control. If he changes stances soley for the purpose of winning an election... well, I believe the Republicans are the one who coined the phrase 'flip flop.'

Besides, Giuliani doesn't need the support of all the Republican party because he will have a lot of support from Independents and democrats for his socially liberal views.

Yes the flip flop, which is an old phrase and pretty much standard fair for the politician regardless of party. The only downfall he may have is he not a conservative Christian, I think? His use as a attack dog for the Bush campaign and some of the strange statements that ensued tells me he is already getting marching instructions.

I wouldn't be too shocked if he is offered a position within the current admin given the coming changes that are bound to happen.

You think there's going to be more scapegoating as the war on terror continues to make no progress?

Given Tenet's resignation, I don't think there's anyone else. The next round of the 9/11 CIA report that names names, ought to be interesting, well, at least for half of America. The other half will be worried still about Gay Marriage.

I wouldn't be too surprised if Powell called it a day.

I'm hoping so far for Obama vs McCain in '08.

McCain I could withstand, but he lost a bit of respect from me in the last couple months of the election - he just seemed to be parroting talking points too much.

Obama, if he stays as interesting as he was this year, will be a possible presidential candidate down the line. But I can't see him being a candidate in 2008; he just won't have the experience. He might have a good chance of winning when he does run. A lot of people seem to like him and he won his race by a landslide. But then again, he was running against Alan Keyes.
